Hype Performance Group H145 Early Access Tomorrow

Featured Replies

I would never pay for something in the flightsim world before even receiving the product.  Burned too many times with beta releases that.  Now that they have something "tangible" I'd consider it.

Or they could have rewarded early adopters and made the price a lot less.  It could be even less now than RTM, and then the final price would be higher.

I'm just waiting for those that slammed them for asking for crowdfunding and screamed they wouldn't give them a penny prior to them delivering a product (and questioned if they would)  to now complain that they have to pay more than those that committed to early release...  Just because it's not like flight simmers to complain and want everything "their" way LOL!! 😉

Well if they complain now that they have to pay more then they're idiots as they knew that all along.

I'm one that wont give them a penny until they have shown they can produce a helicopter flight model worthy of the price. If they pull it off I'll happily pay the extra.

You cant blame people for not chucking their cash at people who have done nothing but produce an averagely modeled heli with a dodgy flight model and then proclaim that they have "proven themselves"

I want this to be a massive success. I want nothing more in this sim than lots of high quality helicopters, but I'm not prepared to pay up front on hype alone to a company that have yet to produce anything close to a high end product. I'll leave that to those with more money than sense.

6 months hype of pretty interiors and exteriors. Not a single word on the flight model. Sorry, but that's ringing alarm bells for me.

I look forward to positive reports and my fears being completely unfounded. My credit card is ready.

Man, in today's supply chained constraint world I find myself paying for more and more without a tangible product in hand and then watching the delivery date push by months after they've taken my payment.  Oh wait, that's what I'm, doing to my customers too.  (Ducks and runs)

Not the same as I'm waiting on manufacturing not development to your point but it does seem to be getting worse and worse 😞    I paid for my pool equipment in March, still waiting for the heater and salt maker to convert to salt water... Bought the stone for the retaining wall in April and was promised 4-6 weeks.  Still waiting... I guess I'm becoming immune.  My customers lead times are ~ 6 months.

Hopefully someone with more sense than money will update on the flight model soon b/c the download link just hit.  I've got little money and no sense so not qualified to comment 😉  I will say I'm surprised to have a release in my hands this quickly.  Let's see what it's like in the sim though to your point.

Please report back on the flight model.

I don't do hype (excuse the pun!) Pretty pictures do nothing for me..  all i need to know is how it flies compared to their H135 flight model.

Cheers.

Just to clarify a point and ensure you made a fair assessment,  do you realize it currently has 3 flight models that it ships with (H135)?

I'm not a rotary wing pilot,  but it flies as well as any other heli I've ever tried in a sim.   I've only tried the advanced mode.

They can be changed in the heli.

There is a massive different between a fairly simple heli (think of the B47 we have on MSFS, which I think is a pretty realistic sim version of a basic helicopter) and something like the H135, which uses – needs – artificial stabilisation for normal flight ops. If you've tried the H135, make sure to use the Advanced flight model (select in the little iPad); anything less than Advanced is not at all realistic.

The H145 is that, only MUCH better. Super smooth, more complex (if you want it to be) and by all accounts a super strong first release (note that it will undergo continued development, and the devs have confirmed not everything works just yet ... but it is more than complete enough to have a blast flying it). Also note for the early access price you will, ultimately, get three versions of the H145: it has released the VIP variant, and will follow (later on) with military and civilian variants. Plus talk of an EMS version (but nor confirmed).

On the fence? Try the H135 with Advanced flight model. Like it? Then get the H145, it is a LOT more polished and does not feel related in too many ways to the H135. Want to get your heart rate up? Get the Bell 47.

Well aware of the flight models thanks and I've put a couple of hundred hours in this bird, all on advanced. I reckon that time for a fair assessment 😉

I'm afraid it doesn't fly as well as any other heli.  It's average at best.  Have you flown the Dodosim 206, The Dreamfoil 407, The DCS Huey or the Bell 47?    They for me are the pinnacle of consumer sim heli flight models and I compare everything to them these days.  The H135 isn't in the same ballpark, but as a freebie I have no issues with it being the way it is.

Just did over 30 min on the h145.

Vc: top notch

avionics: smooth and complete

flight dynamics: convincing

flying in vr: the only way

now, I’ve dabbled with htr fde in fsx and p3d and the h145 behaves like a afcs stabilized modern medium weight twin turbine helicopter. No, it’s not twitchy like a bell407 or dcs uh1 and it’s not supposed to be.

Note to self: Don’t see the pilot figure in external model unless turning it on in vc and copilot is missing altogether for some reason.

I’d say this is a very good buy and looking forward to the other variants and further refinements.  Mfs2020 is meant to be enjoyed with a helicopter and the h145 delivered.

I got it and it's not that bad. Not a heli pilot but I understand H145 to Bell 47 is like Airbus to DC-6

I'd go with "Airbus to Bleriot*"

* Not a jab against the Bell 47, but in recognition of it's pioneering position in history.

I have a lot of heli time on all the helis in X-Plane (barring the recently released Lama). Know the B407 very well, and no you cannot compare even the 407 to a 135 or 145. Try the 135 for X-Plane and you will find it is stable to the point of boredom. The Hype H145 with Advanced on (Torque button) is pretty good – much, much better than the X-Plane H135 flight model.

sd_flyer, looks gorgeous! Does it come with dual GTN750 by default?

Because I have to ask...is there some sort of AP (or maybe it's called AFCS) in this bird?

About how fast does it cruise?

How are the sounds?

It's kinda pricey - do they do the flight model outside of the sim?
