I had to start without internet connection to be able to play.

I will check if I eneble the connection back after what happens.
edit: works if the connection is enabled after starting the game.

So you don't have SU5 installed?

Well, If you get it going again prepare yourself for a massive download.  At least 60GB iirc.

And for everything to be broken, the sim to crash constantly, aircraft won't work, things won't animate, etc.

I've heard someone saying signing out of and back into the Xbox account will help if its a Store version of the sim.

I did a comprehensive uninstall, cleaning out all widows (widows, not windows) and orphans so to speak, waited until after the hotfixes, and reinstalled from scratch.  I also followed this set of suggestions:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sH2FCmBg7VA&ab_channel=50Fifty

I have completed flights of over 3 hours with no CTDs, avionics freezes (which was previously my nemesis), or MSFS freeze ups!  now 100% successful. Prior to those steps I was achieving about a 35-40% success rate in completing flights that should have averaged around two hours.   I consider a total removal of MSFS, including all remnants, to be essential to success.  And I have not in the past or at present done any OC.

Oh!  I flew this afternoon and closed out the sim.  Just opened it once more to check.  Zero issues about updating.  Started normally.

Doesn't happen to everyone.

But to those who experience it or have experienced it all I can say is that it is real and terribly frustrating.  And too often, myself included, when expressing frustrations here, are labeled and attacked as trolls or such.  For me personally on this issue, for almost 6 months, my MSFS experience fell far behind my experience with previous sims.  My current experience is very good, with some notable exceptions.  But that is recent and after a total and comprehensive redeployment!  And finally a GPU upgrade.  It took both to tango!

You’re able to start the game with no internet connection? For many of us, it will insist on a login to the M$ account, and refuse to run if trying to play offline.

Sorry if this is a bit off topic.   But i was having some insert disc word not allowed pop up on me the other day after we lost power.  I went into time and language in win 10 and hit the sync now button for time and date.  Problem solved.

Gotta a lot of pretty sharp computer savvy peeps on here so hopefully you'll get it squared away.

                                                                               Good Luck,

Hi Gents,

Couple of days ago I had the same annoying issue.

Scrolling this thread on MS community I tried one of the solutions proposed that is uninstalling and reinstalling XBOX app, and it worked (in MS store the update for MSFS magically appeared). Obviously not sure if that really was the root cause of the problem ("new mandatory update" box show stopper).

Cheers,

Massimo Burti

For some…for a few. Not for everyone.
