Trees draw distance is bad again

You can't be serious, the trees are way to high and big compare to RL.

I didn't measure them when I was flying.

I really wish i could justify spending any time taking some pictures of real life trees by a few  airports around the country (US) and writing a bible that in someone else's imagination can provide exact tree size's and also taking pictures from 3K ft of what a tree line should look like thats about a few hundred miles away but for some weird reason i cant see myself worrying about it cause till this day I had never spent more than a few seconds looking at trees in any of all of the sims we have had available to this day . Yes i can see landing at a small field where there's a tree at the end of the runway thats taller than usual and will kill the immersion but in a case like this i rather have asobo or anybody thats able to change it just remove the tree than trying to spend time figuring how to come up with a tree thats a EXACT REPLICA of the real ones and ends up with something that when maxed out kills performance and at that point we continue the millions of threads about the trees being a problem still .

Well, seriously Asobo. As this topic was such a broadly discussed thing with a lot of feedback from the customers I do not have a single bit of understanding how they could possibly release a WU resulting in reduced draw distance again. Seriously, do they have a single person doing tests? I mean, regarding the noise this topic created after SU5, I would have for sure marked checking tree draw distance with a fat, red marker on any list about what to absolutely test before releasing WU6, but obviously no. Unbelievable, really...

Absolutely agree 100% Chris. It seems a nonsense.

the trees look good on my end . If this was a tree cutting simulator ill be worry about it a bit more .

The look of the trees is not being questioned, the draw distance is, so your reply just seems to be an attempt to be argumentative.

Please remember that even if you don't notice a problem, it might be a problem for someone else.

I have only flown a few flights in urban areas of NYC and Miami, as well as the Bahamas after WU6. I did not notice a tree range problem, but it could be because I've mostly flown in southernly locations and areas without many trees. I also set my Terrain LOD at 4.0 in UserCfg.opt.

Looking at the screenshots from Sweden and Finland, there certainly seems to be a problem. Which is completely unacceptable, because this was introduced months ago, then fixed after several months, and then one update later it's back.
I don't understand how it's possible to go from fantastic tree distance, to absolutely terrible tree distance, then take months to fix it with promises of a completely reworked tree system with "trees to the horizon", and then break the whole thing one single update later.

I'll stick to tropical locations until this thing is fixed yet again. The rest of the sim seems to work really nicely. *knock on wood*

you got that wrong arguing was not at all where i was trying to get ,I know exactly what the problem is that its being talked about .   In my case i just really dont focus on trees that much while flying up high or low or while in the ground taxing . I understand that some really want to look down and be able to see trees that are miles away for what ever reason . like i mentioned on this thread i can see if one is coming down to a small field in the woods and theres trees at the end of a runway that are wayy too big compared to the real ones in that specific airport and that will kill the realism , in that case i rather have a team focus on moving trees out of the way instead of dedicating wayyy too much time on finding a clone of the exact tree size for every single part of the world and giving a slider just to control that for us to later find out the hard way that even after being able to adjust the tree draw distance we now get a performance hit and again a million threads open up again to be mad at the change .

So you personally don't care about trees and don't care that others do care about trees.  What else in the sim could you do without outside of five miles - clouds, mountains, rivers...?

Why have you bothered to post in a thread about trees if you are not bothered about them?

It seems a lot of old code has accidentally been pulled in again.  Bugged code that was once fixed.

They do so much good, and then let themselves down with poor quality control such as this.

We have regressions right from the airport history not saving again, through cockpit camera issues, through to the trees again.  All fixed once and now back.  They really need to get on top of it.

It is fair to ask the question 'what is going on?' without the need to absolutely slaughter them.

If there is one person responsible for pulling code in from various branches and not keeping track of what was fixed and where, then they need to have a quiet word with them.
This is a multi-million pound/dollar/euro project with (I have heard) about 2 million sales up to now.

It is important to finally close these constant regressions out, for us the customer, and for Asobo's image on this subject.  Jorg has spoke about the regressions himself, but it's still happening!

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

They have a real organizational problem. And apparently they don't learn from their mishaps, updates after updates. which raises the question of the quality of the upper management. You can be a bright engineer and a poor manager.

I absolutely agree. They fixed the pop in terrain and then increased performance and smoothness from the last version. That's really great.

Hopefully they can fix this recurring tree issue much faster than last time, because they know the fix already.

your first time quoting me you talked about me sounding like argumentative and AGAIN you got it wrong and now you are back at it questioning me .

Look  the three thing is a issue that needs fixing like many others  important things like default airplanes that need fixing because we  cant operate  the way they work in real life we know that everyone knows it . I instead  choose to vote on all the polls and send info directly to those who can do something about it .

again im not denying there's an issue I learned my lesson from previous attempts to try and communicate the right way about a few issues  with no positive results and  just simply choose to enjoy what we have and wait till it gets fixed and again like i said before trust me if there's another million and a half threads directly from someone thats able to actually fix things where we can vote to fix things and the three issue is there I WILL VOTE ON IT TOO .

People, someone copied and pasted some code pre-tree range change into WU6, that's all.  To be frank, I didn't even notice it until I read this thread despite a good 10 flights since WU6 as I was so enamored w/ the pre-caching slider and finally being able to use some VRAM, the fixed altitude bug.  Relax and enjoy what's working as so much is--it will be fixed rest assured.  And besides, get off of the main interstates in the US Pacific Northwest and guess what?  Clear cut big time!

Will it be fixed?  How long has it been?!

Sounds like a few people on this thread might need some anti-anxiety meds.
