I think he's talking about XP11, until recently it was really bad and we can't say it is a new project either. It's an old franchise. About MSFS, it's publicly known the team behind isn't the same that developed the older versions of the franchise (the Aces Studio was completely shut down a few years ago). They have indeed used some modules of the old FSX (ATC for example), and have iimproved over that. Although, the graphical engine they are using is new, also the physics and the flight model are based on new concepts not possible back when FSX was released. I will not even talk about the "earth twin" they have built with the help of A.I. Although isn't right to say the started from the ground up, isn't accurate to say MSFS is just a new version of the franchise. It's a different team working with a lot of newer tools (Asobo knew nothing about flight simulators). There's a learning curve. IMO, they've done a good job so far. 9800X3D@H150i // Msi RTX 5090 Trio OC // 64GB DDR5 6000mhz CL30 // 2TB + 1TB Nvme Dell 27" 2127DGF - 1440p - Gsync - 165hz Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus // TCA Quadrant Airbus // TFRP T.Flight Rudder Pedals // Logitech Flight Multi Panel

New developer, building on a new engine with some pieces of FSX code. The age of the "franchise" doesn't matter - it boils down to the codebase.

ATC, autpilot, flight plan system, here are some of functionnality coming from fsx. and it is more important than beautiful cloud for a simulator. They have done an awesome cosmetic job, but on the core, not really at the moment. They have change the physic, i don't feel it is really better (the behavior of aircraft at ground is just a joke, and always this feeling of flying on rail, yaw axis is bad also). Some high fidelity products are none welcome also. this point is a regression. But i really enjoy the product, especially since i have a VR headset, i fly every day and make my first scenery since i play FS (FSII) (PALH on Flightsim.to). I'm patient and believe in the future but actually, it doesn't meet my requirement. But i know my way is not the only way. that's why i use both MSFS and XP, we don't have to choose, we can enjoy both product for different aspect, this is what i do without judging the way of using the sim of others (all these stupid fan war are irriting me, from both side, just teenager reactions). (Team has changes several times since the beginning of the franchise, it is not an argument 😉 ) They are very good game developper, but they need to open their door to sim aviation experts with experience. they are on a learning curve, yes, but so many time loose to reinvent the wheel. Regards, A lot of those issues were specifically addressed in the Q&A for SU6. Not sure if you had a chance to watch it. The flight plan system is going to be re-done by WT for the core sim. That part will come next year, IRRC. In any case, the ground friction will get a big update for SU6, with a re-write next year, but will fix most of the major issue we're having now in SU6 (3 weeks from now). I thought the yaw axis got an improvement also for SU6. There were a bunch of additional good aerodynamic fixes for S6. They went over those in the first part of the Q&A I think people really need to watch the entire VOD. It's long, but well worth it. Edited September 30, 20214 yr by Jeff Nielsen Jeff D. Regards, If you watch their promo videos you will see they have flight experts consultants. Actually some of them have got their PPLs to help understand the concepts. That’s not the problem, I’m sure. The problem is the product needs time to mature. It’s not easy to develop a domestic flight simulator. The costumers want really diffuse features (scenery, SDK, aircrafts, missions etc). About the old team, it’s a valid argument because the franchise was dead for a long hiatus. And was took back for a totally new team, with no knowledge about the bugs or features. Learning curve, like I said. I’m not so sure which legacy modules they are using on the live version, but WT is working hard on the autopilot and will start working on the flight plan and ATC on the next year. So good improvements are expected on all the 3 features. 9800X3D@H150i // Msi RTX 5090 Trio OC // 64GB DDR5 6000mhz CL30 // 2TB + 1TB Nvme Dell 27" 2127DGF - 1440p - Gsync - 165hz Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus // TCA Quadrant Airbus // TFRP T.Flight Rudder Pedals // Logitech Flight Multi Panel

We should be able to listen to the ATIS and have that match real world METARs, and have conditions in the sim match. The in sim ATIS is wrong, but the actual conditions when at an airport (wind and temperature at least) are usually accurate to the current METAR if you look it up outside the sim.. I just use littlenavmap to see the current weather. Edited September 30, 20214 yr by Tuskin38

Oui. Les trois prochaines mise a jour seront seulement concentré à des améliorations et de finallement écraser les 'bugs' qui sont dans le sim depuis l'alpha. English translation: Yes. The next three updates will only focus on making improvements and finally overwriting the 'bugs' that have been in the sim since alpha. Please use English in your replies. I thought ASOBO said quite a while back the FSX code was actually pretty good, they just added to it and revamped it or whatever. As far as bug fixes, Jorg said SU8 was going to be nothing but bug fixes and clearing the bug deficit. SU 6-7 are also getting more fixes and corrections to the core sim as we mentioned above.
