First was Burkard Renk's Mytraffic with somewhat poor a/c models others follwoed quickly and models became better and better. I'm afraid that real good ai traffic for MSFS might take a much longer time until we get it. Until then, I avoid larger airports focusing on small and medium-sized GA airports. Sometimes I visit my P3D/AIG installation just to jump into a PMDG bird at O'Hare, Frankfurt or other big hubs. Starting the engines, observing all the beautiful a/c around me until I'm ready for taxiing and take off gives me still much joy. I really wish I could do this in MSFS. True, but the important difference is: the AI traffic did work from the beginning, it just took time to get things running, all the models and textures ready. However, there is currently NO working AI traffic in MSFS, neither from an addon nor from Asobo itself, the engine is simply not ready for it. Otherwise we would already have it. See Globel AI Ship Traffic, converting models does take some time, but when it is done, Ship traffic is there. It was even possible with non converted models. Means: the issue with AI air traffic is simply that the sim does not provide the basis for it. THIS is the main difference compared to FSX... October 13, 20214 yr The best thing that can happen to a company of entrepreneurs is not having the obligation to return the money in case their product is incomplete. The only hope I have left is that those who are in command of Asobo, are from the team of the sensitive, and not from those who only live by and for money. My parents have explained to me since I was little that these are the two types of people in the world: those who are in a hurry to earn money, and those who do things delicately to make them last. Its like difference between McDonalds and Leonardo daVinci. If there were real air traffic, or at the very least, if they didn't hinder the use of fsx models (or provided a way to convert them quickly) they would earn triple the money and triple the love. Another thing that destroys our desire to have air traffic is SILENCE. That is why we must continue to communicate it until they realize that it is essential and that, in addition: they have sold it like this. A company that keeps silent in the face of a lack is the only thing that doesn't sound good about Asobo. They do not ignore the problem and do not propose a solution. We don't want patches. Neither fixes, nor generic child trafficking. We can't fly with toys in professional clouds.

They've been working on this for close to 5 years before the release, I'm sure there was the executive pressure to release this "as is" to start bringing in the revenue, as buggy as it was and is. The budget was getting depleted and they needed to start making money somehow. Jacek G. October 13, 20214 yr Not sure how often it needs to be repeated until it is understood by the ‚but we had it in FSX‘ folks. Next to the performance issues, MS cannot include airline liveries or more models into the Sim as they stated they need agreements with each any every airline or manufacturers they want to include. They have something with KLM that‘s all we know. Microsoft is not going to spend their money and time with lawyers. maybe they did not care what was done with FSX but now they do. Jörg mentioned numerous times he talks with the companies but it takes time. I assume when they have a substantial package ready they will add this as a free/paid dlc. sorry but it is a shame to read again this ‚type of peoples‘ ‚arrogance’ or ‚not invented here’ comments. What a word not allowed. Edited October 13, 20214 yr by urthgental
October 13, 20214 yr The non existing ai or let’s call it a joke we have now is a massive showstopper. Asobo should have this as number one prio but we get air races and topgun BS instead Lukas Dalton

We have bought an incomplete product and we cannot complain, because there is no answer and they do not give us the money back. What would you do? to silence?

What a word not allowed. It is curious that this explanation is made now by Asobo. Usually when they advertise a new airport, I can see planes from various airlines parked or taxiiing for take off. The video has nice strings and powerfull images on steadycam. There is almost always more than 5 planes taxiing... Why do they use them for the teaser if they aren't there later? Shouldn't desert airports advertise? is that legal? On the other hand, no one is asking Asobo to include the real world airlines: we will do the repaints as it always has been. The only thing we need is to be able to inject into the simulator the hundreds of models that existed before: 33,340,350,732,733,734,735,757,767,787,744, md81, etc, etc ...
October 13, 20214 yr I don't think that it's "cultural" on Asobo's part. When they first released the MSFS SDK, a number of SimConnect functions were either disabled or deprecated. In some cases (for example, weather) the new MSFS code was changed so much from FSX that the original SimConnect calls no longer made sense. In any event, Asobo disabled a lot of stuff in order to reduce the number of bugs in the early releases. But then for some reason, the AI traffic system broke completely in SU5. There doesn't seem to be any urgency to fix it. Fixing AI traffic also means fixing the built-in ATC, unless you're in the tiny minority of users that rely on online ATC. That makes the problem even more challenging.
