I no longer have the patience or mental agility to go searching for the necessary drivers, and neither do I any longer have up to date knowledge that I had during the 80s and 90s - sadly. I therefore rely on the auto driver updater, which does a better job than I could do. As for the second point - that my graphics card barely meets minimum standards. Any financial donations are welcome:-) I live in the North of England and can barely afford my heating - my 25 year old car is on its last legs - and at £1.54 per litre for E5 petrol, driving it is just about possible once in a while. Finally - yes you are correct about FS1 - back in 1982 I only had a ZX Spectrum. Wasn't there an earlier version still 1n 1979 on Apple? I wasn't trying to offend you as we can only go by your post on your IT knowledge, FS history and systems specs. Forums post don't contain personal situations or feelings. October 21, 20214 yr Side point, this must be what is coming w/ the DX-12 update for MSFS: DirectX 12 Ultimate[edit] Microsoft revealed DirectX 12 Ultimate in March 2020. DirectX 12 Ultimate will unify to a common library on both Windows 10 computers and the Xbox Series X and other ninth-generation Xbox consoles. Among the new features in Ultimate includes DirectX Raytracing 1.1, Variable Rate Shading, which gives programmers control over the level of detail of shading depending on design choices, Mesh Shaders, and Sampler Feedback.[54][55] I think this will be the platform for a major, touted 'impressive' weather update that has been hinted at. October 21, 20214 yr so far its okay and glad they brought back the saving of flights history in the map. The brake alarm/warning in the longitude and tbm needs a hotfix though. October 21, 20214 yr After the (sadly expected) install/upgrade nightmare it sure is nice to see such optimized performance now. Lots of improvements and after adding community add-ons back it loads no problem. Waiting to see which if any cause CTD's. For some reason the ground marshallers / rampers are not showing up anymore? The fuel truck is but don't see it in services to call for fuel either? SAR Pilot. Flight Sim'ing since the beginning.
October 22, 20214 yr I'm getting CTDs that started the night of the update flying KPHL to KDCA. As soon as I approach EYES it blows up. i7 8700K @4Ghz, EVGA RTX3080 Ultra, 32GB RAM, Two 2K displays. Alpha Yoke, Bravo Throttle Quadrant, CH Pedals.

Basically the good old Copenhagen Interpretation of the wave function collapse in the formalism (which conjecturers the collapse might be instigated when an observer is present) ... you know that sort of sciencey thing everyone pretends to understand but really doesn't. Schrödinger had a recalcitrant kitten that caused him all sorts of grief because of it. it insisted on only being real (albeit rather dead) when he looked at it and otherwise wafted about the house in some sort of indeterminate state running up and down the hallways at night and leaping from one bit of furniture to the next willy nilly Soon as he looked at it - bang - dead kitten flat out on the carpet, at least till he looked away and then it was up to its old tricks again. I think it is funny reading post after post comparing sim performance before and after the patch. It is an apples to oranges comparison when pre-patch I was seeing dozens of other aircraft (could barely get a word in edgewise to ATC sometimes) and now I am lucky to see/hear one or two other aircraft. Is this another one of Asobo's "optimizations" to "improve performance"? Maybe it's location-specific, since a poster above also mentioned EGLL, but when I was there during my testing last night, I was seeing more AI traffic than I'd seen in months. Showed up for me but holding only one wand and not performing the correct actions like they used to. Absolutely bizarre how aspects of the sim can be broken to such a degree with seemingly unrelated updates in the release notes (just thinking of the programming logic and it makes no sense).
