With atmospheric sounding names like Cold Lake and Moose Jaw, I can't wait to set a bit of snow depth and give them a go! Looks like the Snowbirds are still flying Canadair Tutors out of Moose Jaw. I am surprised to see the Tutors still going, but they are probably a bit slower and more precise than the Hawk for aerobatics. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). Saw them twice this year... always a treat. 9 ships doing what they do is really a beautiful thing. We enjoy it while they are here.

They say it’s called Cold Lake because there’s a lake, and well, go there between November and April and the rest will make sense 🙂 Both Moose Jaw and Cold Lake are on the Canadian prairies so lots of wide open area available for military training. The two are actually relatively close together, maybe within the short range of the Hawk? Snowbirds plan to keep flying the Tutor until at least 2030, current estimates have replacement costs at $1.5B. EDIT: Yes looking at that map above now it was that tour in 2019 that I saw. That looks like a fun ferry route to try from Scampton to Halifax! October 29, 20214 yr I still have not bought this yer. The reasons why. Enighten me guys! 1) It looks stunning, i am 100% sure its a stunning addon but, after watching counless reviews on youtube, it seems really sensitive on pitch, I Dont think it should be that twitchy on finals even when on the right speed on final's etc. It puts be off. 2)Everyone want to do the mac loop and then spray red/blue/white around. OK! but after that how does this aircraft fit? is it one your going to keep coming back to once that novity has worn off? Does it really have a long life? I had a jet trainer in P3D and it was great but after a week or 2 it just was another hanger queen. At this moment in time i have my MKI spit that I love, the G36(Mod) with Nxi I like for the Nxi, The CRJ for an airliner and the PMDG DC6 for a classic airliner. My Second set is the Mooney for a fast GA, then its down hill for me, the Ryan and the PA27 I find to slow....I always feel I could walk faster, Sorry Thats just me. I will not buy anymore sub 140KTS aircraft. The Hawk on the other hand is super fast! Thoughts? Edited October 29, 20214 yr by Nyxx David Murden. October 29, 20214 yr @Nyxx I'm really enjoying the hawk. Usually not a fan of military jets in msfs, since I find that there are other platforms better suited for that, like DCS. The pitch sensitivity is a problem, but can be solved with curves in MSFS. I found that flying approaches with the hawk is actually pretty fun, it's fast enough to practice the same approach a couple of times. And landings can be tricky with the hawk as well. It likes to drink a lot of fuel, so that adds to the planning experience.
October 29, 20214 yr I think if anyone still has a question mark against this one despite all the YouTube footage and pages of impartial reviews in forums like these then it would be fair to say - its not for you 😉
