In other words, everybody has their own likes and dislikes, a different idea about what is important to them.

I have been watching with way more interest the progress of the Connie and the smaller, and not so old historically, Just Flight Fokker 28, both are probable purchases for me. The Fokker is from the 1970's and has vintage radios and "authentic gauges and navigational equipment, including RMI (VOR/ADF) and HSI". And "a custom-coded autopilot". And the pre-release pictures all look fabulous.

The engines do sound great on the Connie, I had not really listened to them properly, because of concentrating on flying her.

I really want a Super Constellation it is iconic, so I will probably pick this up once it available elsewhere (will not use simmarket) just because the odds of anyone else doing a Super Connie in the near future are very low and hopefully a few sales will encourage more development.

Yes I agree, if no one goes for this old bird then what message does that send to other devs ?

So guys I jumped in this endeavor  and I wanted to warn you I was not able to load Connie on my rig. I run i9-10900 with RTX3900 under 3840X2156. After pressing "FLY" Connie loaded 100% and MSFS hanged. Basically wallpaper photo changing but nothing else happening. During my first attempt I waited 15 minutes, ran out of patience and decided restart PC and load Connies again . Here is my second attempt I'm waiting again! I'm not sure what to make of it, but I have never had an addon that take that long!

 

 

I assume you already tried it with all other addons disabled?

No I didn't. I Just reinstalled entire sim two month ago and deleted whole bunch of add ons I don't use anymore, so I don't have that many.

By the way there is no disclaimer or requirement  by RedWings to have potential conflict with other odd on. I wrote about my problem to official discord support, but it seems no one there now 😞

Sorry you're having that problem it loads fine for me.  For some reason the wheels dont go up when I press that button on my joystick I guess I'll have to find the gear up switch in the cockpit.

Have you tried spawning at a different airport in some different region?

Perhaps. But I think the message could be that as we are now in 2021 with a high fidelity flight simulator, we want quality addons consistent with the simulator, whether modern or old birds, and not just in system depth but also in appearance, not something that looks like it belongs in FS9.

The PMDG DC6 is an old bird that many people purchased, but it is a quality aircraft, which this Connie apparently is not.

The Connie is almost $50 US now, and the PMDG DC6 which is a finished product that flies great is only $9 more. What are the going to price the Connie at when it is finished, more than the DC6. Good luck with that.
