There's no reason not to jump into the beta IMHO

Hopefully this is the start of more public betas in the future. As long as they don't include any sim changes with World Updates they can keep pumping those out as fast as they want!

Yes. I was among those demanding public betas very early on, and I still think a lot of issues could have mitigated if they had it implemented soon. I really hope they will continue this way which obviously seems to work well.

Kind regards, Michael

Guys, a question : today I am going to reinstall MSFS on my server after a hardware upgrade.

Can I install it all without installing the public beta too by accident ?

Thanks…

Community & official folder are on my D drive and NOT my C/Windows drive. Is that fine?

SHOULD be fine. Same as I have without any issue when I originally joined the SU7 beta and the public SU7 came out. Just downloaded the new launcher exe and that was it. YMMV as I am on Store though

Did you join the beta via XBOX insider hub? If not then no beta will install by accident

and if yes, end the beta in xbox insider hub under preview tab and then you should also be able to pass the beta (at least this is what i did)

Have they fixed the issue with performance tanking after touching down? That's been my biggest complaint post SU7. It seems to be a lot more  pronounced on flights longer than 30 mins.

I personally haven’t noticed performance tanking after touch down and it certainly doesn’t seem to after the two hot fixes. Of course performance is bound to be somewhat lower on the ground than aloft, but I noticed a noticeable boost in performance and FPS since implementing hotfix .18 and then the 497.09 nVidia driver. It’s almost night and day since SU7 for me.

Are you using DX11 or 12?
Thanks

The only postprocessing setting

I hope that eye adaptation set to 0 works now. It already does for many people and does not for others like me, maybe a graphic card feature (mine is a 1080.).

Nope, it does nothing... when the cockpit takes a large portion of the screen, the outside world is overexposed.

<sigh>

Eye adaptation  is a questionable  idea in the first place but adding a parameter to cancel it which does not work, is irritating.

Heard too many of these "Joining beta deletes your installation or config" stories for me to ever touch that with a 12ft pole.

DX11 mostly. I did try DX12 and performance was only slightly reduced but with noticeable stutters, as most have seen.

And Richardo yet again taking offense to natural conversation happening on a forum, classic avsim!
