December 23, 20214 yr Commercial Member I'll be happy to answer any questions you have about the Milviz SR-71 project. Here's the answer to what's probably the first question: The current status is that the final work on the interior texturing is being done now and should be finished in January, which is when we can ramp up to 100% effort on migrating the existing custom systems code and developing the advanced custom flight model. We’re aiming to go to beta in early Summer of 2022. Of course that timing isn't a promise, it's the goal, and could change for better or worse with circumstances. So Asobo said after the release of the F-18, they have made super sonic flight accessible in the MSFS SDK - that is, any super sonic functionality the F-18 is accessing in the MSFS SDK, is also available for 3rd party developers. Are you currently using the new supersonic functionality in the MSFS SDK for the Blackbird? If so, are there also limitations of the supersonic functionality in MSFS SDK for the Blackbird? December 23, 20214 yr Howdy. I was a USAF Air Traffic Controller for 15 years. 7 of those years were spent at Beale AFB where I controlled SR 71s, U-2s, T-38s, and KC-135s as well as a host of other aircraft from other bases who would come to our base to play. If you look at any old pictures of Beale during the years of the SR Program you would see that the Control Tower sat directly opposite those giant hangers the SRs were kept In, just like the pictures shown in this thread. I’ve seen the hangers and the plane “up close and personal” and this is “as real as It gets”. Kudos Milviz. First day buy for me. -B

Milviz has an advanced flight dynamics system (named ADV) that bypasses the sim's internal flight dynamics in cases where the internal isn't adequate. (The T-38 is another case where it's been used in the past.) This is one of those cases. We're happy supersonic flight is supported in the sim but we're not dependent on what the sim will allow.
