Kodiak G1000s Still Too Bright!

Featured Replies

I know there were quite a few, including myself, who complained about the brightness of the G1000s on the Simworks Kodiak. I was elated to initially hear that the issue would be rectified in the hotfix, but unless it's me, I still find them far too bright, even when turned down to minimum. Am I alone with this, or do some others of you feel the same way?

They seem kind of dark to me.  I use a HDR monitor though so that might be a factor.  Oh note that I use the G1000 NXi

My complaint was that it was too dim. I have to turn Instrument panel up to max to get it where it is acceptable.

Sounds like the G1000 dim or bright is down to individual monitor or tv settings. Not too rare of a problem between users.

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700F CPU @ 2.90GHz (8 cores) Hyper on, Evga RTX 3060 12 Gig, 32 GB ram, Windows 11, P3D v6, and MSFS 2020 and a couple of SSD's

I noticed yesterday they were a bit dark. Checked setting & they were up to 100% brightness. Maybe they're a bit too dim now. 🙂

Never happy are we 😀

As I continue to fly the RYTB Bonanza and the mod'd C208, both with NXi, I note that my flight path orientation to the sun appears to be a key issue, and perhaps there is a dose of over compensation. Cannot ID that as responsibility of MSFS, NXi, or the specific aircraft models. So this may not be unique to the Kodiak 100.

Which G1000 are you using. WT NXI or the default?

Are you using the G1000 option to change the brightness? The NXi is quite dark and dim by default on my PC. I have to use the instrument panel knob on the lights panel clockwise to make them brighter (and imho perfect). Maybe you can use that same knob to make the screens less bright?

It's the Simworks default. If I wanted to try the NXi, is it the Working Title mod that is available on the Marketplace? I have to admit at being a bit word not allowed about glass guages as I have always previously only flown with steam, unless in the NGX,

Ah, maybe this is where my ignorance of the G1000 shows, You ask if I use the G1000 option.... am a gluck here?  I use the knob on the aircraft's  instrument panel, as I thought this was the only one available. EDIT: After a search, I see there is an option on the G10000 itself, although not that obvious. I will try that shortly to see if it helps.

You can only get it from the MSFS Marketplace: it is a free 'purchase'. And HIGHLY recommended!

That's her! It's almost a complete package. Many more features than the SWS/Asobo default.
