Bijan 4 season pack

Auto season will change seasons to the next season every 45 days without opening the program.

How is this done?   I don't see anything in the documentation about creating a scheduled task on the user's system, nor do I actually see anything in the task scheduler once I've installed auto seasons.   It doesn't appear to have created a service, either, unless I've overlooked it.

For comparison, the REX product creates a task that runs nightly to perform the update, and the installer prompts you to get your permission before doing it.

It is with scheduled task, but there is an issue running it now since auto installer would need to ask for community folder address. I am fixing that part so it will remember the community folder address so it can be run without issues after 45 days. I will have an update in few days.

Gotcha, thanks for the reply!

If I may make a suggestion, when you get it working, perhaps add a note in your installer that choosing the automated install will create a scheduled task on your system, so that the user has the option of declining that if they don't want it.    Could also be nice to have a toggle in the installer so it can easily be disabled if desired.   Compare this and this in the other product.

At the minimum a disclaimer about what it does would be nice.  🙂   Thanks!

Auto season will change seasons to the next season every 45 days without opening the program.  You simply run auto season and close it and you never have to open the program again. (there are 8 seasons now in the pack).   There is a glitch about asking to fill in community folder path which will be auto filled and fixed in next update in few days.

Ah - got it now. Thanx Bijan,

Found this update rather complicated to install

Then it didn’t work

Previous  setup worked -if a bit cumbersome

Will wait till further updates

An automatic install would be a help for the less technical !

Love the seasonal presets-rally good stuff-great work

Did you install Java as required ?

And manually you will have to point to your Community folder.

On both my W10 as my W11 pc it went flawlessly….

I am just going to switch the files manually, since I like determining when the seasons change rather than having it done for me. A few seconds work is all it takes.

Are you related to King Canute - I demand the spring stop it's advance until I'm ready!

External Storage Three 4Tb HDs

Done the same -switch manually and now using the new presets

Enjoying the new presets-they are terrific

A switch app on the desktop to chose and set the required season before flying would be a step forward for me

I use this type of arrangement for LLH sceneries in P3Dv5

I love this addon. My only comment is that the leafless winter trees look more like dead trees to me? Grey and dead.

Please refer to the text file called: " How_to_download_Java.txt" in simmarket along with season pack 7:

If you computer doesn't have Java installed, you can install from https://java.com/en/download/

Sorry to appear a bit dense, but a) how does one check if they have Java installed and b) following the link you supplied it mentions that "In Windows 10, the Edge browser does not support plug-ins and therefore will not run Java". c) the email update notification I got stated that "No Java required". All very confusing.

Hola David,

Thanks for that. One last question you might be able to help with, if it is installed correctly, what should appear in MSFS community, I cannot see anything new?

With an empty Community folder, I followed the video instructions, and only one Bijan Season folder showed up in the community folder.

BTW, I use the addon linker to remove everything in my community folder except for my AIG traffics & Ships traffic.

After going through the video for the fourth time, I realised that I had an unzipped "BijanSeasonsV7.1" folder inside my "Bijan Season" folder which was causing the problem, all good now.
