Light jets, and where to get new planes?

Featured Replies

Back when I first got MSFS, I was flying with Xplane 11, and like the Eclipse Jet a lot.  The Cirrus Vision was nice, too.  Now that MSFS has been out for a bit, are there any light jets like this available?  I don't mind payware, as long as it's good.

Aside from that, are there any "must have" planes?  I think I read there is a very good A320 developed by someone, and it's even free.  What is the best place to get additional aircraft?

I have enjoyed an experienced Flight1 Mustang, Learjet 35A, Epic Victory(LionheartCreations Version) various Carenado Bizjets in FSX.

For MSFS I'm waiting on the Hondajet, Bae146 and Fokker F28.

As far as right now for bizjets...none of the good stuff is released yet.

Thanks.  I've been flying the TBM, which is the closest I can currently get to what I'm looking for.  Citation Longitude is cool, but I don't like the flight characteristics.  Maybe that's how it flies in real life, but I just like the feel of it.  Also, It's hard to see out of the windshield.  Seems like the dash take up a lot of my view.  Some of it could be the fact that I use a 1920x1200 monitor.  My views never seem to match what I see in youtube videos, but not sure if those people are adjusting their FOV or what?

Must haves are:

Working Title CJ4

FlyByWire A320N

G36 Bonanza (Improvement Project) and the G1000NXi

all free

very nice payware:

SWS Kodiak

JustFlight Hawk

Guenter Steiner
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Betatester for: A2A, LORBY, FSR-Pillow Tester
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Your best bet so far is the Working Title CJ4 - they're getting pretty close to an even better version with independent FMS etc.

The CJ is very well rounded in terms of systems etc.  It's not A2A/PMDG level or anything but it's pretty dang good - and has an amazing selection of liveries.

https://www.workingtitle.aero/packages/cj4/

There's a Cirrus jet G2 coming out maybe summer-ish from FlightFX

Also a PC12 coming from SWS not sure when that's supposed to be out.

My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL |
| Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

They are highly configurable so yes you need to set them up for your own needs.

Looking forward to the HondaJet coming out.

That being said I'm more so on the lookout for one day having a long range Biz jet like the Gulfstream G550 (longshot I know), Global Express 7500, and Falcon 7x.  Seeing as AI is still screwed up in FS where you can't leave NY and go to Heathrow and see real world liveries for that region, airliner flying is a no go for me. Long range Business Jets are perfect to fill that void.  It's good to know we have a BBJ on the horizon.  Some will say the default A320 is an option with a private livery but if the aircraft has airliner fuel range that's not a true long range Business Jet.

As is the WT CJ4 is far better than anything you have mentioned above, unless steam gauges are a requirement, then the 35a with the GTN has it.

Work also seems to be well underway on the new (Refresh) version of it, which will improve it further.

My preferred place for paid addons is the Orbx store if they have what I want,  as they have pain free automatic upgrades without all the downsides of the in-game MS Marketplace.

For payware jets the CRJ is a standout (though regional not light, but actually looks and flies like a big business jet) :

In terms of non-jets, the stand outs are:

which I kind of why I gravitated towards the Longitude

Google MSFS Longitude mods and or search for them at the place to get mods for MSFS   ...   flightsim.to

Will change your simming life when you see the absolute volume of freeware stuff "modders" are putting into this sim.

I know @Ricardo41 is/was into the Longitude for a while...he can probably point you in the right direction for mods for it (that fix the issues you mentioned I believe)

Dillon,

You need AIG AI. Great models and liveries - I don't fly without as it makes for much better realism.

Is it a quick install or do you have to spend a few hours setting it up?
