Remember, it's Aerosoft, but in some way they're maybe right, because original files cannot be modified without their permission.

May not....and distributed.... without permission.

We can individually modify ours for our own use because no one would be aware.  Unless they noticed a different tail number...  LOL!

They need to be careful because millions of MSFS users are going to download the mod even if they don't have the plane. Gimme a freakin' break!

MSFS

They can't.. the .to site took the files down due to complaint from Kok

I read the thread. It sounds like Mathjis is open to working with the modder who made the file, and he hinted to the aerodynamic fixes being a trade-off. (Accuracy during take-off for inaccuracy during cruise), because of Asobo's current prop-wash physics. Nine times out of ten I disagree with Mathjis, but in this case I find myself on his side. I dunno, I must be tired or something.

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

That's not true. He denied him beta testing the product, or accepting any of the commentary he did directly to them, even providing the numbers for the CFG file. He did go to Aerosoft prior to posting this on flightsim.to and gave them the numbers. They said "This is accurate as is and is validated by RL pilots". Same thing with the sounds.

Yes it is. Mathijs said "If he explains what to change to to the results there would absolutely not be an issue. Or if he just shares the lines that he changed that would not be an issue." and "As I write we have zero problems with the tweaks, we welcome them!" and "share the information, not the file! Share the tweak, not our copyrighted code." - Which to me sounds like he doesn't have problems working with the modder to get the fixes out in a way that doesn't involve sharing certain code to non-customers.

Maybe I'm wrong, just the jist that I got from the thread. Not really a hill I care to die on; Not for Mathijs, anyway.

My (quite reasonable) post was deleted and thread closed.  Bye-bye Aerosoft - you just went the same way as Captain Sim in my book.
It may be too late, but I will request a refund - we all know what will happen, but I will let my feelings be known in that email anyway.
As others have said above, not normally a word us English would use, but it is utter baloney!

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

I had a long winded response but instead I just will say:  I'm disappointed in Aerosoft.  I'm disappointed that some developers are lowering their standards to satisfy the mass market.  I believe that customers who have always envisioned high fidelity addons have driven the flightsim addon market to expand.

And now we have users making modifications in their SPARE time, and WITHOUT pay - and a big company would put an end to it.  SMFH.

All we can do is not buy anything aerosoft anymore. Seriously. And send them an email saying how bad their product is to a point a dude fixed it for free. Aerosoft is permanently on my not-buy list

The Twotter is the only flight sim plane that I ever bought but can't fly due to the sounds.

I purchased the CRJ from them and I can tell it was also dumbed down and certain items that weren't addressed in previous Sims weren't addressed here.  And then you have basics that don't work...like simple LNAV...the darn plane overshoots easy turns.  Thankfully I got it on sale.  It will be my last from them unless they overturn their rediculous decision.

Right? A mod that is useless unless you already purchased the plane.

Aerosoft… SMH

I was holding off on the Twotter based on reviews, but I absolutely intended to buy it once it matured a bit.

Certainly not now.
