I've tried dragging each prop lever back to the feathered position with the mouse and each prop does feather correspondingly (or starts to) but this seems to be unreliable. Using the mouse, the left lever moves to the feathered position but then flicks back to the unfeathered position (sometimes immediately and sometimes after 4 or 5 secs), with the prop also then going to unfeathered. Using the mouse the right lever sometimes (very occasionally) stays in the feathered position and the prop stays unfeathered (oops, correction - stays feathered). But usually it does the same as described above for the left lever. I'm seeing a slight change since the above post. When I pull the right prop lever back to the feathered position with the mouse, it stays there every time and the right prop stays feathered until the lever is moved forward again (i.e. working correctly). But when pulling the left prop lever back to the feathered position with the mouse, it moves back initially but still flicks back to the unfeathered position (now after about a second every time). EDIT: While checking out the feathering I've had a light bulb moment and learned something that others may already know but I'll share in case some don't. I had not realised until now that the "Toggle Propeller Reverse Thrust" command actually reverses the direction of operation of the prop levers, so that when moving the hardware prop levers forward (i.e. on my TQS), the prop levers in the sim move from low to feathered (and will not move into the normal low to high range). And if the engine is still running and the throttle is at idle, moving the lever to the feathered position in this way will shut the engine down. If a throttle is not at idle that engine will continue running until otherwise shut down. One prop can be feathered individually in this way but because the "Toggle Propeller Reverse Thrust" command reverses the direction of operation of both levers you can't operate the other engine with that prop lever in the normal low to high range. Interestingly, with the "Toggle Propeller Reverse Thrust" command activated, I can drag each prop lever individually to the feathered position with the mouse and they will stay in the feathered position (either or both). But with one lever feathered the other will not move into the normal low to high operating range (because of the common MSFS command). So until MSFS give us a separate "Toggle Propeller Reverse Thrust" command for each prop, it appears we still need to be able to drag each prop lever individually with the mouse to the feathered position, regardless of the existing MSFS command. Currently I can do that with the right prop but not with the left prop. Edited April 11, 20224 yr by Sender46
April 12, 20224 yr I'm reporting a huge bug in the paint on the 414. It seems the paint is water-based and if you run it through a hard enough rain storm...it strips the paint right off! Pics prove its true! This is what it looked like before it went thru the rain storm: Now I got to paint the dang thing all over again! Not getting near any clouds until @Flysimware fixes this bug! I release it...people get it wet...it starts to corrode. Who do you think they'll complain to that I gave them a rust bucket and demand their money back (even though they didn't pay for it)? I'll tell you what...I'll put your email address in the credits...say YOU'RE Tech Support for this paint, and we'll see if you think how good of an idea it would be to release a bare metal "livery" to the masses.🙂 (its kinda' strange calling it a livery....its actually a non-livery when you think about it...too bad its 10 times harder to "paint" than an actual livery) I made the mistake of giving this to the Leonardo MSFS beta team to play with during the beta. Nothing but complaints about corrosion! 🤪 Welcome to the Avsim forums by the way. 😉 Regards, Steve DraGet my paints for MSFS planes at flightsim.to here, and iFly 737s hereDownload my FSX, P3D paints at Avsim by clicking here
April 12, 20224 yr Page 20 of the manual shows the right thumb switch on the yoke as Pitch Synchronisation Switch and the cockpit tooltip shows it as the same. I'm assuming that's the same as propeller synchronisation but it doesn't operate that. I'm guessing that is considered to be low priority at present and yet to be implemented, as for the Autopilot On/Off switch on the yoke. Edited April 12, 20224 yr by Sender46
April 12, 20224 yr The POH says reduce to 600 to 800 rpm for 2 to 3 minutes to cool down hot engines before shutdown. https://www.dropbox.com/s/cndw81qmkjhdxpn/Engine Shutdown.png?dl=0 A minor issue but I can't reduce below 800 rpm. (Beta 1.4.3_Hotfix)

No. When the AP is off, Pitch Sync should align (sync) the FD with the a/c pitch so the pilot can use the FD while hand flying. In this mode the FD will not follow the a/c, so if you change the a/c pitch, you have to re-sync the FD again. Al Edited April 12, 20224 yr by ark

April 12, 20224 yr Hi, Purchased the C414 today. I have autopilot problems (both models):- GFC600 When turning on the AP buttons (with or without the FD and YD), the light illuminates and all seemd engaged, but I get no AP servo activity at all (in other words, the AP is just not engaging, despite the GFC's annunciator showing that it is engaged). This was with the (free) PMS GTN750. The AP's mode buttons do not seem to be bound to any of MSFS's AP key commands (eg. The default AP Master, Hdg, Nav, etc key assignments do not work, meaning everything is mouse-based, which can be problematic when trying to fly the plane, or in bad weather) Navomatic The Navomatic is working better for me, but I cannot get any APP GS mode working on approach. I can get a LOC mode via the NAV button (when in NAV GPS/NAV mode), but how do we engage GS mode. I see an indicator on the AP panel, but it's not pressable, so how is full APP (LOC and GS) selected? I have one camera / view issue too:- When the plane loads (in cockpit camera mode), it is extremely zoomed in to the panel. I can of course change this easily, but each time I go to any other camera view, then back to the cockpit, it's back to being zoomed in. So I am constantly having to zoom out. Thanks in advance for any pointers. April 12, 20224 yr I have changed my hardware rudder settings (senstitivity 50%) and it feels quite good now. And please DO NOT CHANGE the default cockpit view. It is the only realistic one in the whole sim.
April 13, 20224 yr It's already been noted that the fuel computer doesn't count down the remaining fuel (even though the time remaining does count down). In addition to that, I'm seeing the following differences from the manual: Situation #2: NO FUEL ADDED Switching on the battery from cold and dark: The top section should display the usable gallons of fuel remaining from the previous flight. But it shows it with the decimal point in the wrong place (e.g. it shows 13.00 GAL REM when there are actually 130 gallons in the tanks). Only when I press ENTER does it show this correctly as 130 GAL REM. Situation #1: FUEL TANKS TOPPED Switching on the battery from cold and dark: I top up the tanks and set the top section to 206 GAL REM with the FUNCT and ENTER buttons as per the manual. If I then switch off the battery and switch it on again, the top section now shows what was in the tanks before I topped them up (e.g. 130 GAL REM incorrectly shown as 13.00 as in Situation #2), instead of the 206 gallons that are now actually in the tanks. If I exit and start another flight, it does show what is actually in the tanks correctly (albeit with the decimal point in the wrong place initially). Situation #3: LESS THAN TOPPED Switching on the battery from cold and dark: The top section shows the remaining fuel. I add fuel to the tanks and add the same amount on the computer using the FUNCT and SET buttons so that the correct GAL REM is shown (e.g. 50 gallons added and 180 GAL REM set). If I then switch off the battery and switch it on again, the top section now shows what was in the tanks before I added fuel (e.g. 130 GAL REM incorrectly shown as 13.00 as in Situation #2), instead of the 180 gallons that are now actually in the tanks. If I exit and start another flight, it does show what is actually in the tanks correctly (albeit with the decimal point in the wrong place initially). TEST FUNCTION Being nitpicky, the manual says the test function should display all digits as 8s except the upper right (which should be a zero). But the first 3 in the top section remain as per the GAL REM quantity. Also, the test doesn't stay on for the 3 seconds that the manual says it should. ALSO (SOMETIMES) The manual says that switching on the aircraft master switch should show the gallons remaining in the top section. But if I enter a new flight and change the fuel quantity in the tanks before switching on the battery, sometimes (not every time) the computer does not show anything in the top section (i.e. no fuel remaining shown, no digital display in the top section) even though some of the red legends are lit showing there is power to the computer. (But I'm guessing not as much as @capceo) I would suggest checking out "av-fonts.zip" here in the Avsim library for the tail number. Looks like the Cessna factory font, but also perfect for many other GA/corporate aircraft.
