March 20, 20224 yr UK2000 is about to release their first airport outside of the UK which is John Wayne Airport in California for MSFS. UK2000 Scenery Heads to the US with John Wayne Airport for MSFS - FSElite
March 20, 20224 yr Really? Interesting! I would buy this airport - perfect for Pilot edge if I ever have time to get back into that. But I have zero experience with UK2000 airports. Are they of high quality? Similar to FB. FSDT, FT, and LVFR? For P3D they were alright/solid, mostly because they covered airports other devs did not (in UK), but they were not top notch. For MSFS I haven't tried them yet, but I heard they were not that good in MSFS for whatever reason. But that's for someone else to elaborate on. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

KPHX is being done by Flightbeam IIRC, so that will be covered. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

I've had many of their offerings over the years Luton being the most recent in FS2020. This is an odd choice for them. They usually stick to the UK. March 20, 20224 yr KSLC is in a weird spot right now for devs as the old airport is completely demolished and the new airport is about 50-70% done. I wonder if any devs would want to make it before the new one is done. As for John Wayne, I think it's time to reenact Harrison Ford's infamous taxiway landing.

KPHX and KMSP are both under development by Flightbeam and apparently not far off. Not sure it would make sense for someone else to do these airports since many are probably waiting for FB anyway due to their quality. PacSim have said they're going to do a new version for KSLC but my guess is only when the new layout is complete or at least close to being complete. Not sure though if they said anything on which simulator this is for.
March 20, 20224 yr Must admit I'd prefer they would concentrate on completing the redevelopment of their P3D/XP11 UK airports for MSFS - such as Belfast International; Belfast City; Prestwick; East Midlands to name but a few. No other developer has covered these as yet - as far as I'm aware?

I bought a few of their UK offerings as I'd enjoyed their work in older sims. Wasn't very impressed. I've purchased the PilotPlus Bristol and Pyreegue Glasgow to replace the UK2000 versions and they are in a completely different class. UK2000's stuff is distinctly "last gen" in comparison.

Not super high quality in terms of fancy graphics, but this has the virtue of making them run well in P3D if you are running a lot of add-ons and fancy airliners, and they are usually fairly inexpensive. Despite not being the leaders in eye candy, UK2000 add-on airports are however invariably high quality in regards to up-to-date accuracy. Product support is invariably good too, so they gained a lot of fans because of these factors and because they have done a lot of UK airports which nobody else looked at. More recently however, their products garnered some criticism for the fairly mediocre graphic appearance of them which most people deem as acceptable for performance, but only to a point. As such, I'm pretty sure this was something the developer was intent on improving, so it'll be interesting to see how that transpires with this new offering. Holy cow, I just researched a bit and had no idea that KSLC is a complete demolition and rebuild in real life and under construction. So embarrassed. I fully understand why neither the or the new has been looked at in this sim, makes total sense now. March 20, 20224 yr I watched that video, and I don't know if it blows me away compared to the freeware KSNA that's already available out there. Edited March 20, 20224 yr by mistercoffee1
March 20, 20224 yr I think Chocks opinion is spot on from my limited experience with them from FS9 days. Was hoping to see if they moved upmarket but its looking like mid level quality at secondary airports with a lower price to match is their niche. Nice to see the glass work and lighting on the terminals. Needs a touch more texture work on the roofs .. missing a bit of detail. I would have also liked to see them replace that entire parking lot of "flat cars" in the general vicinity of the airport and replace it with some statics around the airport instead of using up all the poly allocation to fill up the terminals. Apart from that .. i guess i could live with it if the price was right and i was flying corporate jets.
