April 4, 20224 yr Fake liveries on fake aircraft operating at the wrong airports! I get to pay for such a product? 🙄 Simple is one thing but really? i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024
April 4, 20224 yr I don't know why people would choose to pay for word not allowed looking default A330 wannbes over free real aircraft and liveries. Edited April 4, 20224 yr by Tuskin38
April 4, 20224 yr its just amazin we have a product out for quite a while, and still we have major traffic problems. Instead of coming with all this eye candy and world updates, just fix the major problems and will have a decent sim. I want to see actual lineups on rumways, and real traffic in the air. I have been doing this for quite a while and remeber with FSX we had a program called Ultimate Traffic 2. I really want to see live airports, and live traffic in the air. Yes, I do have Simple Traffic, but give me a break many of us invested lots of money with new computers to buy this program. Instead I see more updates and more updates. Hopefully soon!! 10700kf, 3080 nividia, 32gbs 3400mhz, 1,000 watts power, M.2 DVMe !tb, boot, 1tb 7200rpm, storage, windows 10 home

Probably because whatever airline was spawned their sim didn't have the correct livery for, so MSFS just grabbed the first A320 livery in the livery list. Might have been the same with that Wizz livery. Edited April 4, 20224 yr by Tuskin38

And I thought Simple Traffic uses the generic ones, so those shouldn't have been generated. Or can you enable both, non-generic and generic models at the same time? For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Clicking install, and having it all work, as is, has value over dinking around with the installation rituals involved in the other product. Since installing ST I've done absolutely nothing to maintain it save one update which required one-click as well. I don't stare at parked aircraft to make sure they look real/accurate enough--I'm way too busy focusing on pre-flight configuration, checklists, etc and I notice the liveries many of which do match the airport's real service lines, and there is good reason to believe over time ST will become progressively more accurate when you look at its architecture. I think it's very possible we will see more accurate models over time from Asobo as well since great looking models are a dime a dozen. So that's why people would choose to pay a small fee to have all of this improved greatly over default, and never have to think about it again. That was all in many posts in the thread which perhaps you skipped over. I vowed that I would never put myself through a word not allowed program like that again. Pay a few dollars, one click, and Simple Traffic works, AIG was like sorting a box of paper clips by atomic weight.
April 5, 20224 yr As mentioned earlier I was put off by the complex setup of AIG. Two days later and I got it set up with liveries from all major European, Asian and North American airlines. Installation went fine following an excellent tutorial - https://youtu.be/NbrrArabaLk My opinion is still that ST is a very good product for it’s price. I too am usually too busy in the cockpit to notice the odd generic models. Liveries match up quite well with arriving and departing airlines, and using real online traffic the schedules aren’t bad at all (I believe MSFS get their data from flightaware). As I’ve also mentioned, parked aircraft with ST will be completely random, which can be immersion breaking. I spent 3-4 hours installing and downloading AIG aircraft. I’ve used it with their own traffic controller (it injects AI aircraft according to schedules) and the immersion is great. It’s worth noting however that the schedules are quite outdated. Don’t expect to be able to compare it with Flightaware scheduled and real flights. Watching A380s, 747s and regional CRJs in their correct liveries is awesome. However the traffic controller has been very unstable for me, CTD’ing frequently. Luckily there’s also the option of using the AIG models and liveries with MSFS live traffic. That’s what I’ve settled on and seems for me to be the best solution at the moment. AI aircraft behave reasonably well, and it’s fun being in the midst of busy skies and airports, with real-time airliners in their correct liveries. To finish off, both products have their merits, depending on one’s needs and expectations. They both certainly increase immersion by a great deal! EDIT: I haven’t been able to access AIG forums since subscribing two days ago. Still waiting for admin approval. Hence I’ve been unable to troubleshoot the CTDs. It’s freeware and I guess I don’t really expect support from the devs. Edited April 5, 20224 yr by Cpt_Piett 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

Set the shortcut for the AIGTC (I think that's what you mean by "TM") to WIN7 compatibility mode; won't crash again. It's a simconnect issue within the sim, but luckily solved by this workaround. It is however a tad more complicated to install and use in comparison to Simple Traffic, which is basically drag&drop. (Sorry if you already know that and wanted to hear only from Simple Traffic users) I did check them both out and eventualy elected to go with Simple traffic. Appreciate al the responses. Many thanks.

Most users generally want their sims looking as good as it can, and ST is a huge step backwards in this department. $15-30+ to buy each good airport scenery that is as detailed and up to date as we can get, only to drop this 💩 on it? This isn't an A is better than B thing, I'm not suggesting another product. The OP was wondering if ST was any good. If your expectations are low I guess it's better than nothing but not by much. i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024
