It's true and by the time you start focusing on flying those details become easier to ignore. You will often also see the right liveries at specific airports as well as ones that are out of place because when you use RT traffic because as mentioned Simple Traffic does match livery to actual flights in and out.  It would not surprise me if Aerosoft realizes they can perhaps use the same logic it uses to match correct livery with specific RT flight in MSFS, and restrict liveries in that regional airport to the actual liveries coming and going.

So Someone makes a valid point on the differences between the two and what you will see with ST and that's your response?  Your next response will undoubtedly be about how AIG makes your blood pressure rise and is physically painful.  Oh wait, you already posted that one...  Every time, without fail..

Your sarcasm fails you once again, Bob. You don't have to go looking for wrong liveries, you see them right from the VC.
You could have just said that you are not being bothered by wrong liveries, as long as there are some planes with liveries you recognize at the airport. There's nothing wrong with that. But your point doesn't come across any better by those sarcastic one-liners.

Just get ur wallet out and KISS/Keep IT SIMPLE and Straight/ for ST.

  It works and ur life will not be complicated.  U want more migranes then get AIG.

Everyone can't help but notice and at some degree certainly not find wrong liveries a good thing!  But it's really a case of what you're willing to put up with to avoid it.  For me, I'll take some wrong liveries in trade for the sheer simplicity of ST as I can't stand screwing around with much of anything to 'make things work.'  When you look at how ST works, it seems only a matter of time before wrong liveries will become progressively a thing of the past--as they eventually add all liveries, the problem *should* resolve.  From their FAQ:

1. In Online AI mode, liveries are selected according to the live traffic data feed within the sim. If Simple Traffic does not yet include a livery for a given airline, then a random livery is selected. This behaviour is controlled internally by the sim engine.

 

ST has been a game-changer for me. The airports seem alive and much better than default. I looked into AIG but man what a hassle! Not worth it IMO.

Like Noel I’ve set MSFS to RT online traffic. With ST and offline traffic that’s a bit of a mess in terms of arrivals in wrong directions, insane low-flying and such. The limitation here is as mentioned - that parked aircraft (I’m using 30%) will have some out of place liveries. I can live with that. I can also sort of live with the pointed noses but I’d love more accuracy and realism eventually than the current 3-4 airliners.

Now, if AI aircraft could vacate runways a LOT faster (got 3 go-arounds today at EHAM rwy27) and not spin around on taxiways that would be swell.

Thanks for you observations. I've checked and realised, yes, there was something I'd missed.  In AI OFFLINE mode parked traffic is filled via Simple Traffic flight plan data; hence they recommend Ground Traffic Density is set to 0 for this mode (which I did at the outset after installing ST).  But if you use REAL TIME ONLINE you can and should raise Ground Traffic Density to above 0 because the real time live feed doesn't include parked aircraft.  Raising Ground Traffic Density to above 0 will make MSFS populate the gates with parked aircraft but there might be some randomness in liveries for parked planes.

I'm all for simplicity so I use ST, I'm tired of messing with programs and files and will not fall in that rabbit hole again.

Yep, I went for Simple Traffic too. I looked at AIG and started the install process but kept getting all kinds of errors and it just was too much hassle. Aerosoft’s product was cheap enough that I didn’t mind paying for it.

I have had Simple Traffic since release. I love it.

I am a casual simmer and for my purposes it is great. It does and is what is says on the package...
