Fabio and Chewwy are streaming the PMDG 737 right now!

What a waste of time watching this guy stream same issue with his landing "cartwheel" into PAKT than he says its a bug with the plane yet Chewwy did 3 perfect flights with the same aircraft with no issues. He should just stick to GA planes something he was flying in MSFS exclusively for almost 2 years now.

Are you saying the cartwheel was pilot error?

Fabio tried an RNP 0.1 approach in Rio de Janeiro. He didn't put the 0.1 performance constraint on the FMC, he started the RF leg with flap 5 and 170kt, totally out of the correct approach procedure, but amazingly the autopilot kept the RNP performance at 0.05 until he turned it off.

I was under the impression RNP wasn't supported yet with the PMDG 737.

Entering a manual RNP has no effect on navigational accuracy; all it does is calibrate the nav performance scales to show an exceedance if ANP reaches your entered value. It's simply a monitoring tool; important in real life because the entire point of RNP procedures is that they're only safe if you continuously maintain a required level of nav performance.

With the quality of GPS coverage today, it's quite rare to ever see ANP drop below about .05nm.

Why would starting an RF leg at 170kts be out of correct procedure? What speed was the box calling for at that point?

RNP procedures are just RNAV approaches with certain nav monitoring requirements.  They require special authorization in reality, but you can do anything in a sim ;).

Some (certainly not all) RNPs have special curved segments called RF (radius-to-fix) legs.  The PMDG box doesn't draw these yet, but their navdata emulates it with a series of faux waypoints.  Functionally speaking, it works well. I had all the Alaska proprietary RNP procedures in Southeast Alaska working well in the PMDG back in FSX.

Thanks. Yes, I was wondering about the RF legs and if they were implemented. I understand what RNP is. Hopefully one day these legs can be fully simulated but I fake them all the time as well, with the G1000NXi.

From a previous news post, RF legs and all those other goodies should come when they upgrade the NG3 to the new LNAV model. It will launch with the current LNAV model that has been used in past products.

FPS were ready bad on take off from KLAS, 25 FPS he was saying it was the the area/scenery, but I just did the same take off with the CRJ with FPS locked at 40 and it never droped below, he like me runs a 3080. So FPS have a ? to me.

Are you running at 4k with most settings at ultra? As I believe that is how he runs his sim.

PMDG doesn't keep a lot of their promises on supporting past products so I wouldn't count on anything new as a guarantee beyond what is included in the product you buy. Like all the P3D users who are waiting for the LNAV update...

With the current LNAV Pmdg has one of the best working LNAV!

WASM aircraft cannot access the internet from within MSFS to download things like Simbrief flightplans

Thats quite a disappointment. One of the great features of FBW is being able to request the Simbrief flight plan from the FMC. As well as having the option to access the OFP from the Flypad. Not to mention the payload, PAX number and fuel quantity.

Its very disappointment. Even the CRJ imports from simbrief. Well  you DL the route into a CRJ folder.

I am pretty sure the CRJ variant of doing it is working in the 737 as well.

Lets hope so. But after watching the flight again, FPS seem poor, I hope its becasue he is streaming. I have the same addon KLAS and KSAN and FPS never drop below 40 (locked) in the CRJ. He had massive pause/stutter at KSAN just befor turning off and around 25 FPS most of the time on the ground.

That's exactly how it works on the 737 in MSFS (and how it worked on P3D)...? Download the .rte file into the WORK folder, load the route in the CDU and there you go. Fabio showed it in his second stream a couple of hours ago (flying in Brasil).

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.
