They should just use the MSFS dev mode one - I could barely see the fps display up there hehe.

There was an fps display? I totally missed and wondered what the point of the video even was. 😆

I'm more concerned with the platforms SDK limitations.

What exact SDK limitations are you speaking of? I ask since that's been a bit of a canard and talking point that's been thrown around a lot, especially by MSFS detractors. When the likes of Leonardo Software House (Maddog), PMDG, and Fenix with their high levels of quality/standards are about to bring out their aircraft, I'd say the SDK certainly does not have major limitations or road-blockers (save for the soon-to-come APIs for reading weather/terrain data, or better debugging capabilities, etc)... Better yet, I think it's safe to say that the MSFS SDK more than holds it's own given the current crop of high fidelity aircraft already available, and the ones about to drop based on all the previews/videos I've seen, etc.

Found this from today's YT releases.  Looks pretty good to me ! !

I am referring to the limitations where developers need external apps to make certain things happen. I don't disagree with your statement of SDK is mature enough to accommodate high fidelity aircraft. However I was always under the impression that these additional functionality that was made possible by external apps that injects data to the sim could have been integrated into the sim itself rather than enforcing an external app. I might be wrong but that's what I am thinking.

What is the concern with the external app injecting data? As long as it runs well in-sim.

By the way, correct me if wrong but all of the so called high-fidelity sims also had external processes in P3D and probably XP, due to those platform limitations, be it an app or a separate non-P3D related process. And the weather related ones definitely were using external processes.

I think the point is to not worry too much about these things and just fly.

As I said earlier if I were you I would hold off for a few weeks on purchasing this. But if nothing alarming crops up then it would definitely be worth the Euros spent. And Euro 75 is similar to many other high-fidelity sims out there. PMDG is going to take over a Euro 100 from you I think.

Have fun!

We will have to wait to see these next few releases, the BA146, the Mad Dog and the 737 are all on short final. However, unless their developers and all the people streaming these planes are not telling the full truth -- I believe Randazzo has specifically said that there are no MSFS SKD limitations to their aircraft simulations and that the MSFS release of the 737 will have the same functionality as P3D -- it seems these aircraft will work just fine in MSFS, basically the same as P3D, except for weather radar which is due to be implemented later this summer or fall -- and that is not really an SKD limitation but a WASM limitation. If you are unsure, it is a good idea to wait a little; I am sure the intrepid folks here on AVSIM will tell us pretty quickly if it is all a hoax 😀!

I'm excited and definitely getting this aircraft but there just has to be a little bit more effort in the textures. Its 2022 and MSFS is capable of much more...its not a cheap addon too.

Heres one grabbed from the video posted above. Pretty excited for this bird.

I do agree with this too, I am still thinking there's a little bit of margin for error due to YouTube compression on videos but this is also true for other aircraft that are in final stages. Definitely there's room for improvement and it's not unrealistic to expect better textures at this price tag.

Same conclusion on my side after looking at this vid and previous one. VC model and texture are not that great, it's even more obvious when you compare it to the FBW320.

Would be nice to have a confirmation that they will be working on it after release

Looking at a video earlier in the thread it is also worth noting the the Maddog averages 7+ more frames with less stutters than the FBW. Sometimes details come at a fps loss especially in a complex airliner .

We don't know yet if the MD-80 will receive hi-def VC model and texture, But we are sure that we are going to get DLSS next SU and current hi-end hardware will get cheaper by the end of the year

If it's really 7 fps difference between good textures and 3D model that matches what's under the hood I'm willing to take the FPS hit. I think it's a wait and see game for me until developer publishes a roadmap for 3D model and textures. In my opinion a product should meet what's under the hood from outside and I still can't see it from the videos I have watched on YT. This might be ok for some flight simmers and I don't have any problems with that but it's not on par with my expectations from a $80 product.

Doesn't matter for us VR users...everything looks good in stereoscopic 3D.😛
