So as I said: to each his own! 🙂 And as I also said before: it's great to have options but I like to limit mine gladly!

I agree it’s great fun to learn each aircraft in as much depth as possible. In my situation I flew the excellent 738 Zibo mod in X-Plane for years. I hesitated for a while doing things the Airbus way, but with the help of 320SimPilot and others I’ve gotten the hang of it. Getting re-familiarized with the 737 sure took some effort (I barely touched X-Plane since august 2020), but being able to use two excellent in-depth airliners in the (IMO) by far best sim has been nothing short of exhilarating.

For GA it depends on my mood I guess; Kodiak is my number one go-to, but just today I made a short hop in the default Skyhawk checking out Venice and Bolzano. So many options, it’s quite fantastic 😁

Just one question remains I guess: will I keep flying the FBW when the Fenix releases?

Another one from 320SimPilot:

Great video, around half hour of in-air flight test focusing on handling and aerodynamics in both the "normal low" mode (aircraft auto protectection of pitch/roll/etc angle limits) and "alternate law"... really hope he keeps doing even more in-depth videos like this, great information all around and tutorial-like even for us who don't fly for real 🙂

Some quotes:

"I can't express how happy I am about the handling of this aircraft, fantastic"

"Love hand flying the Fenix a320, just behaves like the real aircraft.. this is all with default default controller settings even"

Flightdeck2sim is streaming. My God! This thing is unbelievable. And for fifty quid. There's never been anything like this for a home sim.

So... Lighten up Francis. We're going to be seeing far more "We're gonna release this now and add to it later" because, well... It's sorta "industry standard" now.

AKA (also known as) in the sw industry as "best practice".

Another option is to write up the documentation before developing the software instead of the traditional way of doing it which is to write-up the manual last. With the former, the customers become your "stake holders" to the end result.

Yep. That's how it works in our shop. The manual guy knows more about the SW than the developers do, and they haven't even started writing it yet,

Since you are obviously not a SW developer, I will help you understand. There are thousands of SW developers and organizations that over the years have analyzed all of the various trials, tribulation, pitfalls, blunders, and mistakes made by the SW development community as a whole (meaning, not unique to any one company, team, or person) .

The industry came up with a solution that has gained widespread acceptance in the world of SW development. It is called Agile.

What is Agile?

Agile is an iterative approach to project management and software development that helps teams deliver value to their customers faster and with fewer headaches. Instead of betting everything on a "big bang" launch, an agile team delivers work in small, but consumable, increments. Requirements, plans, and results are evaluated continuously so teams have a natural mechanism for responding to change quickly.

Most of the software industry disagrees with your position so much that they actually wrote a Manifesto, and people just know that you are serious when you have one of those.

So... Lighten up Francis. We're going to be seeing far more "We're gonna release this now and add to it later" because, well... It's sorta "industry standard" now.

Yeah i think we can end this discussion now. I have my opinion, the industrie has its opinion. Fin.

If you mean the PMDG one, then yes I did. But I have to admit, that this Fenix bird is a step above... 🙂
