May 17, 20224 yr One concern. Now that we’ve seen a few videos of the Fenix I think most of us are in agreement this is arguably the highest fidelity aircraft we’ve had in a home simulator if the reviews match what we’re seeing. However, performance from what I have seen has been questionable specifically on the ground. Chewwys stream had some issues and removed toolbar pushback which was believed to be related however some issues with fps drops we’re still visible. What’s peoples thought on it?

But i read multiple times today about different products for MSFS that there are "more functions to come" after release and "BETA release...." and so on. I just think its the wrong way to do. Thats all. Since you are obviously not a SW developer, I will help you understand. There are thousands of SW developers and organizations that over the years have analyzed all of the various trials, tribulation, pitfalls, blunders, and mistakes made by the SW development community as a whole (meaning, not unique to any one company, team, or person) . The industry came up with a solution that has gained widespread acceptance in the world of SW development. It is called Agile. What is Agile? Agile is an iterative approach to project management and software development that helps teams deliver value to their customers faster and with fewer headaches. Instead of betting everything on a "big bang" launch, an agile team delivers work in small, but consumable, increments. Requirements, plans, and results are evaluated continuously so teams have a natural mechanism for responding to change quickly. Most of the software industry disagrees with your position so much that they actually wrote a Manifesto, and people just know that you are serious when you have one of those. So... Lighten up Francis. We're going to be seeing far more "We're gonna release this now and add to it later" because, well... It's sorta "industry standard" now. I remember the 737 having awful FPS at KLAS on one of the first streams. It turned out it was the scenery and the 737 has astounding performance everywhere, better than the FBW. I'd say as long as it's not worse than the FBW the Fenix should be alright. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

I think the main point is that the addon depends on an external app that will run alongside MSFS and maybe this app can cause a decrease in performance. But honestly I don't expect much difference compared to PMDG or FBW. I think there are other factors that may have influenced the performance loss on some streams. I haven't seen all the streams/videos, but Katies and 320 Sim Pilot's (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EB7gz1ARjs4) seemed quite good performance wise? Fabio is seeing some occasional stutter but I also saw that on his 737 streams. May 17, 20224 yr watching those streamers and seeing how they deal with those company messages, I thought of; how about if Aamir announces the release through company messages to streamers, what do you think of that? isn't going to be so cool? That's a great idea! Just don't do it like PMDG "between 1200z and 2300z, but it's really CLOSE so please hit F5 all the time" For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. My work load and domestic arrangements mean I get to actually enjoy the sim properly on Friday and Saturday nights.....sometimes....🙃

It does get confusing at times swapping between various aircraft. Especially airliners. The last week I’ve been alternating between the FBW A32NX and the PMDG 737, and there’s been quite a few moments of temporary confusion. I try to limit the number of planes so that I can handle the ones I have reasonably well. For that reason I haven’t purchased the Maddog or the 146, amongst many others, which I’m sure are excellent. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

Once you learn one it's muscle memory at that point it's very difficult to forget and to be honest you can learn to fly both at a high level if you don't worry too much about learning how every system works in detial. To each his own, as always. 😉 I am a one-plane-guy (well, okay, a one-GA-and-one-airliner-guy). The word 'variety' makes me crinch already LOL I love to learn all ins and outs of the aircraft I fly and I like to make it 'my own'. In my hangar there usually is room for one GA and one airliner. Currently that GA is the Milviz C310 and I won't touch or even look at any other GA for quite some time (not even the Kodiak 100 which was the only plane I flew until the C310 came home). My current airliner, the FBW A32NX, will be replaced ASAP by the Fenix Airbus and that one will be the only airliner for me for quite some time. I absolutely do not like to hop in and out of a variety of aircraft. I don't fancy that at all. I also don't worry about learning how every system works in detail: I LOVE IT and I want to do just that. As I said earlier I already read hunderds of pages of A320 manuals, found a great site that showed my the meaning of every knob and screw in the cockpit, watched numerouw 320 Sim Pilot vids, brouhgt it all to practice (as far as possible) with the FBW and now I can't wait to apply that knowledge to the Fenix bus! In P3D I flew the Majestic Dash 8 Q400 for YEARS without ever touching another 'airliner' and the A2A Comanche was my only GA since its release. So as I said: to each his own! 🙂 And as I also said before: it's great to have options but I like to limit mine gladly!
