They've already announced IAE's as a free update down the line. It would be very surprising if they didn't carry on the development with A319 and 321. The biggest technical hurdles must have already been tackled with their first release.

That is kind of my thinking.  I don't think the A319 and A321 would be as big of a technical hurdle.  The Neo's a bit more but probably not much more.  Winglets or no winglets should be a no brainer.  Before I buy the Fenix A320 I would like to get an official statement from the developer.  If not I will probably hold out for a developer that does plan to make them all.

In the real world the A321 is really where its at now days.  In fact the Neo will have multiple range options and the latest version will have very long range.  An A321N XLR or whatever it is called will be the bees knees in MSFS.

It’s possible to put the EFB on an external device. Great feature! Hopefully the MCDU can be used on an iPad or similar too.

Sorry, didn’t mean to disturb the bickering.. carry on 😉

Yup, but the catch is that currently once it’s ported to an external device, the one on the aircraft cockpit doesn’t update with the changes you do on the external device.

@Aamir I understand there is no way to save custom panel states (or some other persistant method to come back to the aircraft with everything the way I left it, switches, buttons, engine oil etc.).
In my eyes this is a basic function of a high fidelity aircraft, so can we expect this to be added at a later date?

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Stay on topic..."FENIX"  not the other developers!

Yes chewy behaving today. What a plane RIP PMDG.

And I thought I wouldn't read any worse comments than RIP FBW today...

The PMDG 737, although it has some features missing, it's still a high quality addon and there is no doubt about it. The fact Fenix has developed a superior quality aircraft in no way will make this 737 any less high quality, no matter how big the difference. Also, the 737 and A320 are two different aircraft so they don't compete directly. It's not a competition for who develops the most realistic aircraft.

If your intention is to stimulate competitiveness, you will only achieve this through constructive criticism and not childish comments like 'RIP Dev'.

Chewy showed the task manager with some Fenix programs running in the background, like FenixDisplay and FenixSystem. Interesting.

Since we have about the same system, I wanna ask how you plan to set up the Fenix as far as what CPU threads / etc to get the best out of it?

I imagine you'll need the bird in your hands and a bit of troubleshooting. Once you do, mind sharing what works best for you?

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

I’m in no way criticizing you, but I hope this doesn’t snowball into a discussion like

“Fenix: here’s an extremely high fidelity a320 with 286475937634 features.

Community: yeah, but you’re missing this 1 feature. Literally unplayable. Shame on you Fenix.”

I’m willing to overlook the missing panel states, given the bargain of a price they’re asking.

What? Have we got to fiddle about with CPU threads? I'm hoping it just works out of the box! Is this basically ProSim with a pretty skin?

These thread derails happen as much through posts like this praising other devs as they do from the people bashing devs in the first place. That single comment you are quoting has now probably led to two pages worth of counterattacks.

Don’t love PMDG? Not relevant, if you bash them you’ll derail the Fenix thread.

Love PMDG? Also not relevant, don’t overreact to slights against your favourite dev, just let it go rather than spending dozens of posts engaging the enemy.

If anyone is going to compare Fenix with PMDG/FSL/FBW - which is legitimate conversation imo - try and maintain a sense of nuance. It’s the over-the-top comments that tend to start these flame wars. The last Fenix thread was a mess, let’s make this one better.

We've built automatic affinity masking in the apps. You shouldn't need to mess with it. But, hey, if you want to, be my guest!

See the quantity of features is not the only thing that counts - imagine it had no autopilot but anything else.

Now while this is subjective, ALL study level aircraft had custom panel state saving or a turnaround mode - so this is not out of the world to expect something like this.

EDIT: To elaborate further, it does harm immersion if I have to / can do explaining of delays to my dispatcher, but have no reason to check ANY of the buttons/switches or engine oil state or whatever, because it will always be in the same state in the beginning of a flight.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Somebody asked about performance earlier.

Fabio said 5 FPS slower than PMDG, but I think he was saying that it was smooth.

chewy got some pretty awful stutters which he blamed on the scenery.

This is probably the one thing I’m a bit concerned about. I was hoping external modules would lead to great performance, but that doesn’t really seem to be the case.

amazing aircraft, definitely on my “to buy” list, but I Aldo know that - as a vr flyer - It’ll get left in the hangar if performance is not up to scratch.
