Fenix long haul CTD!

Featured Replies

I wondering if anyone else is experiencing CTD with Fenix? I'm on  1.0.1.95. Prior latest patch I didn't experience any CTD

I have two consequent flight ended up with CTD . I tried different destinations both flight were long haul 4-5 hours. No time acceleration is used. In all cases CTD occurs  near TOD (end of flight)

I'm using display quality : performance and rendering: CPU

P.S. I have already submitted the ticket and provided logs.

Probably a good idea to take a look at event viewer an what actually caused it.

Have completed a couple of ~5hr flights without an issue.

When I have experienced a CTD, it’s been scenery related for me.

I've had one CTD with the Fenix. EFHK - EGLL.

"UNEXPECTED KERNEL MODE TRAP", but that was a few days ago and havent seen it since (neither did I report it)

EASA PPL SEPL + NQ / CB-IR in progress
MSFS24 | X-Plane 12

I haven't had any CTD with the Fenix A320. I am currently 9 hours in flights EGCC - HEGN - EGCC and have 2 hours 44 minutes left until arriving in EGCC, everything is running smooth and had no issues apart from being called a retard by the Airbus computer as it bugged out and looped for 1 minute until I switched views and back again.

Just curious what is your display and rendering setting? I used to use GPU and never had CTD but displays were lagging and so I switched to CPU

This is an asobo issue not fenix

Is there any update when this frame rate slowing after about 2 hrs will be sorted because I have been getting that for the last few months?

No because it’s only happening for me with fenix

Try to keep the FENIX application open before starting the SIM and all the way till landing? And please inform me back with the results?

Just love to fly...............

W11 64-bit, MSFS2020, Intel Core i7-8700 CPU @ 3.20 Ghz 6 Cores, 2 TR HD, 16.0 GB DDR4 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6 MB GDDR5

So far, since I have installed the Fenix, I haven't been able to complete a single flight.... 3 issues in a row: 1st flight, PC hangs after 1 hr of flight, 2nd flight CTD after 40 minutes, 3rd flight all cockpit switches and knobs unresponsive during descent, 1.5 hrs after departure. Fenix APP has always been kept open.

Further to this sometimes I have had MSFS freezing during loading the flight (this occurred only using Fenix), anticipated by a cracking sound in the MSFS music theme, so I had to "kill" the Program via task manager and restart everything.

My MSFS settings are mostly "HIGH" and I am able to have very good performance on Fenix, very smooth and the airplane is an absolute beauty and once this issue are sorted it will be a game changer in MSFS but for the moment, at least for me, it  is unusable due to the impossibility of completing a flight.

So far I have accumulated about 40 hrs with FBW Airbus with no issues at all... this is not obviously intended to be a comparison between the two products but just an indication that my rig and my MSFS set up are working quite well, and up to now I have not had any issue at all with MSFS.

My PC secs are in the signature...

Ezio

Do you have toolbar pushback installed by any chance?

Edited by dikkeduif

I used to, but I have removed after I read that it caused conflicts with the Fenix
