Offline ATC

Featured Replies

Hey,

So, long term flight simmer here who wandered off to DCS.  Used to have P3D (V3-5) with ProATC/X.  Now we're getting some tubeliners in MSFS I'm looking at coming back to it.  Particularly the PMDG 737 in my case.

My main question here is which of the current or imminent offline ATC programs is closest to Pro ATC/X in function?  The biggest thing I'm looking for is the ability to paste or export a route from simbrief, then have the program automatically add SIDS and STARS to it without me needing to tell it to - Pro ATC/X had a tickbox option for it from memory.  And then for the program to be able to direct me through the route including vectoring where appropriate.

After that, priorities are more that I don't want to have to talk to the program, and being able to assign the interface keys to hat switches on my HOTAS - I used to have a button to open Pro ATC, and then 1 - 8 on two hats.  After using it for a while I often didn't have to even open the UI to do things like acknowledge instructions.

Nice to have is the program keeping me de-conflicted from the sims AI traffic - I don't currently use any AI add ins.  Not overly bothered by the voices it uses, though a bit of variety is nice.  I often fly in the same areas for prolonged periods so I'd expect to hear the same roster of controllers.  An unobtrusive UI would also be nice - even better if you can use the program without the UI when you know the response already.

Maybe Pilot2ATC?

the best and complete one is pilot2atc

Think I've tried them all I think (as long as they have a trial version anyway),  for me the best by far is Pilot2ATC....

I also recommend Pilot2ATC, native voice control and it is updated regularly. Not perfect, but as close as you will get at the present time.

This may have been answered, but does this interact with AIG traffic?

I would defenitely wait for FSHud. None of the current ATC addons assign SID or STAR. One addon even requires you to program the procedures yourself... It's like having to write a script for the entire flight and then using the addon to play it back for you during flying. Awful. FSHud looks (and sounds!) pretty cool and the MSFS version should be released in June.

BTW I am an old PROATC user too. Loved it. Nothing currently available for MSFS comes close. Perhaps FSHud will.

Pilot2ATC assigns SIDs and STARs

Tom

I remember back in the day I purchased a program for fsx that wasn't too bad.  It was radar contact. Then after some years went by I think they released it as freeware.  I don't know much about programming but by offering it as freeware I don't know if that allows radar contact to be like open source also.... But was wondering if it was open source now wonder why someone hasn't built off of radar contact for MSFS.

2 cents in the bucket & Happy Landings,

FSHud looks really impressive.  Hopefully, it will be out reasonably soon.

Could someone confirm whether Pilot2ATC automatically assigns SIDS and STARS?  Seems to be both yes and no answers on that ATM.

And yes, I'd looked at FSHUD as it seemed pretty good.  Anyone in the beta able/willing to say whether it will take a flight plan and add on the SIDS and STARS as appropriate for you?

Yes, Pilot2ATC can automatically assign SID, and STARS. Runyways and approaches too, based on real Weather, even during the flight.

Pilot2ATC also can do vectoring, and handle go arounds.

What it cant do is alternates and holds.

yes, I confirm you that it assigns sid and star, I have been using it for years and the truth is that for the options that there are, it is the best,

we will try fshud, and we can compare, until then I will stay with Pilot2ATC.
