June 13, 20223 yr Hey Guys, Just released this one. Being an ex-Navy guy, I figiured I needed to get one out, and I wanted to do the older version of the C-40 when she wore "Stars-n-Bars". Sadly the world has made the Navy strip off all military markings as they are just a target, but I thought it really set her apart from the average 737. 🙂 I did the "Spirit of New York City" in honor of 9/11....I may paint more "cities" as time goes on. You can get her by clicking the link in my sig. I like how she turned out....just sad we don't have a real combi model so I had to use the Passenger model and paint on the Cargo door. The other way...using the Cargo model and painting fake windows on...just looked horrible, so we can't open the Cargo door...but she looks authentic this way. June 13, 20223 yr Author Thanks Guys! I should have painted her a while back...just had to prioitize a few things in the paint hangar 1st. As long as I'm on military run.... this was requested by a friend....a stretch for a 737-700 (or is it a "shrink"? LOL)....but I'll paint her up and see how she looks...and release her to the public.Of course she won't have all the bumps/antennas, hard points on the wings with Harpoons hanging off them, hehe...but I'll do the best I can to make her credible. June 13, 20223 yr Author Wow....she came out of the 1st load into MSFS better than I expected! Still a ton to do....I usually load her up early when I know (especially with fictionals) I'll be moving stuff around. I have to move the big window as its on top of the wing light (its a pic that I doctored....of course there is not a real window there on the freighter model....which I have to use because it has no pax windows (except of the emergency exit which is ok)....need to make the Stars-n-Bars, the NAVY text bigger and adjust position...add a bunch more stickers, take off the cargo door lock stickers, etc.) Hehe....looks pretty good....but FAR, FAR from done. The squadron is VP-8 for those interested. If you're wondering about the orange "RESCUE" arrow in the back...that is what it looked like in the reference picture (literally "picked" the color using the "color picker" tool). I'm pretty sure the actual color is closer to the other arrows. But when I see differences like this, due to the photographer's filter settings and post-production edits...I'll throw a few different variations on her and see how each looks in the sim, then make a choice to which one I think looks the most realistic. I'm going for the more yellowish.
