Some flight ideas

Featured Replies

Hey all,

I have been a long time lurker of the forum. I have historically been using The Skypark for flights. It has become a bit repetitive and I find the cargo types break immersion for me.

My airliner flying has been well covered with A Pilot’s Life V2 but craving some GA/Biz Jet routes.

Any ideas out there for some alternatives for the above?

Doesn’t necessarily need to be an app. Open to flight ideas, websites, plans or whatever else.

Takeoff from Miami International Airport in Florida (KMIA) and fly directly up the east coast of Florida. You'll pass over some famous vacation destinations and gorgeous scenery. Land at the Space Shuttle Landing Facility when you get to the Kennedy Space Center on Merritt Island (KTTS). Total distance: 195 miles.

Lots of GA/Bizjet-appropriate missions in Neofly.

If you're just looking to VFR around, Colorado west of Denver is always fun.   There's also St. Baart's in the Caribbean - lots of fun to practice proper landing technique at that insane runway.

Try some VIP missions in NeoFly,  or some banner towing,  firefighting,  or EMS missions in NeoFly.

NF also has a daily exploration point placed at some random location on the planet,  where you can recover gold and artifacts for trading.

Thanks all! Are there any websites that have ferry flight routes or something similar?

Hi there,

I highly recommend to try this website: About - FsHub

you get plenty of flight suggestions, they call it challenges and some really are, but mostly very interesting.

Here is a multi flight in a stunning scenery I absolutely enjoyed with  a Piper Warrior:

It's all free, so doesn't hurt to sign up and try it!

Good luck,

lately I've had some fun flying in Colombia.  Pasco, Bogota, Medellin.  I have payware for all 3.  Somewhere I hadn't really explored much until recently.  The mountains make the approaches very neat.

Florida gorgeous? That swampy, alligator infested pan? I have flown in quite a few locations over the years. That is definately one of the least interesting places to fly in I have ever come across.

I like flying to small airports with runways barely long enough (or not) for the aircraft you are flying. I fly the FBW a320 and go for runways around 3000ft long. Most don't have ILS and I make the approach regardless of weather. It's not just in the well known areas the scenery is spectacular.

Just imagine you are transporting something dodgy and have to arrive at the destination. Can you do it as safely as possible and  for how many flights before you screw up?

I pull all of my flights from real world flights from either Flightaware.com or Radarbox.com

Pick a state or region and land at every airport there. I did this for Florida and it was great.

Thank you.

The online bit of Air Hauler has ferry flights posted by other users who have bought used aeroplanes and need them flying to one of their bases from a remote spot; be warned though, if they've not fixed the aeroplane they've bought and it was cheap, it may have some maintnenance issues which could make the flight risky, but then again that's part of the fun I suppose. There's quite a lot of stuff like that in Air Hauler.

You could always do your own thing with that too if you liked, for example, if you check this aeroplane on Flight Radar 24, you could replicate its world tour route.

Pick airports with onsite restaurants or cafes featuring hamburgers, pancakes (for breakfast), or truly unique local fare.  The proverbial $100 hamburger/pancake flights.  Or pick airports near fascinating or historical points to visit.  Or famous golf courses if you are into golf.

I fly a schedule based on real life sports events.  This weekend I am in Toronto for the Indycar street race.  Back to Easton, Maryland, and home tomorrow until Thursday, when I fly to Chicago for the Cleveland vs White Sox series next weekend.  Then I follow the White Sox to Denver for a three-game series, then back to Chicago for a series against visiting Oakland.  All of those flights in the Hjet.  Then day flights out of 05C - Griffith-Merriville, Indiana, for $100 hamburger runs to available/reachable addon GA airports, likely in the Robt Young Turbo Bonanza or the default C172 G1000 NXi.  My schedule in early August finds me back in the Hjet for White Sox series in Dallas, then Kansas City, then returning to Chicago.

Just use some imagination....
