By some happenstance I started a flight in the Hondajet from San Juan to St. Thomas today and was like “Cool...this is like a tropical Orcas Island!” (The closest I’ve come to the Caribbean IRL or the sim was when I’d overfly the area on the UA 777 headed down to Sao Paulo or return for work.

But I’m now fascinated and wondering what are the “must have” Carribean freeware or payware airports somewhere near San Juan?

Or other areas of the Caribbean that are awesome? ( As I overflew it I discovered that the area is actually quite BIG when I somehow thought it was small, similar to how I thought Brazil was “hot” and “jungle” only to show up in July in just a a fleece and have it be 34F at night and decidedly Wisconsin-like (where I live).

I loved the people and country and food of Brazil by the way, sad I don’t get to go back there as I once did but am now intrigued by the Caribbean.

How is the Tropicalsim St Thomas?

Search "Migman" on the SimMarket. He does some very good flights around the Caribbean (as well as other parts of the world).

His flights are fully described in the accompanying PDF guides that come with the main package. Well worth a look.

There are a couple of different versions of Julianna St Maartens kicking about and also Seafront simulations do a boats addon.

I am thrilled with the Hondajet, but for the Caribbean I highly suggest the SWS Kodiak.  Get there to a base of ops with the HJ, then lease a Kodiak to do your island hopping!  Lots of challenging airports in that region.  Make the appropriate pick of aircraft and experience(s).

I have about thirty scenery and airport add-ons (freeware + payware) from Puerto Rico to Curacao and luckily, the recently released ORBX SA Mesh covers all of them. I've spend quite some time flying in the Caribbean Sea the last two days. Marvelous!

There's a lot of airports at simmarket that cover the entire Caribbean.

Thanks for all of the suggestions I’m starting with Tropicalsim TIST and some nice looking freeware airports and the Orbx SA mesh.
