October 28, 20223 yr Why is it all cloak and dagger? Can someone tell us what these 'outside forces' are and what changes were required? It is obvious that Cessna had to be taken out at some stage, so have Cessna objected to the use of their name? If so they might as well tell us what is happening as we can read most of it between the lines anyway. And what was all the stuff about adding the 'AW' anyway? There are some great mods on flightsim.to, but these constant changes require extra work from those modders to keep their mods compatible. I use the 'better camera's' mod, which is great (I can't understand how the developers can't set cameras up like Archer does), and a few nice liveries. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). October 28, 20223 yr Thanks Al. I don't have a log in for discord yet, but it seems I might have to get one soon due to the amount of activity. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). So it couldn't have been a "permanent" issue with Cessna. The "AW" is the winglet modification for the 414. That's it's official designation I believe. No time for a full test we got hit with a branding trademark. So is it ok we were trying to get Cessna removed from all stores and everything was fine. Then we found out the market place would not except us to change the folder names. Testers would be no help here. So then we had to rush to fix this as now we can make sure all the repaints out there are going to continue to work and the few that got changed can reupdate so time was vital. And I got everything perfect last night and forgot the interactive checklist had a link that needed to also be reverted. So i say start a sim Company and see if you can do all the things you stated and not make mistakes and not get sued as well. Also try make a profit spending a lot of extra time on current projects. Most sim devs will not do this and tough luck you get what they created. Not ranting just facts. Glad you like that we do many updates to bring the best we can for this new sim. Also why no changelog they are included in every zip? AW is the weather radar version that was added later. I reckon now would be a good time for them to stop fiddling with it and move on to another product. The "W" refers to the winglets and has nothing to do with weather radar in the plane. The "W" was added to the plane's designation in the sim when it was realized it had been left off. Yeah, what I was saying was the "AW" is the actual FAA designation or whatever they call it. Nothing to do with Flysimware. So for example there are C414A out there and C414AW too. I think. October 29, 20223 yr @Mace Thanks for the explanations. Carenado do lots of Cessna stuff alongside Asobo as well, so I wonder why FSW have such problems licencing the brand? They could have their own argreements but if you do take a look at their products such as: https://www.carenado.com/sitecarenado/product/c337-skymaster-msfs/ - Cessna is not actually mentioned. Which could be for the same reason so they aren't hit with any sort of trademark stuff. Checking the marketplace - Its only until you get to the full "About this plane" part it mentions the aircrafts history and was produced by Cessna etc. But is missing from the product title and is simply called "C337H SKYMASTER II" for example. October 29, 20223 yr Looks like I have Version 2.8.1 (downloaded and installed 5th August), and everything seems to work OK. I am not loading the GTN 750, happy with the 530. Reading all of the issues with later versions, think I will just continue with version 2.8.1. and wait to install a later version until things settle down. Am I missing out on anything important?
