Hi there,

We are happy to announce the release of SimBridge with FBW Installer v3.2.0. SimBridge is our custom-built solution to connect our aircraft to various external devices and data.

NOTE: Update your installer and SimBridge to the latest versions to maintain compatibility. Additionally, the MCDU server is no longer on experimental and is now a feature included with SimBridge!

Read here for setup information and features available: https://docs.flybywiresim.com/simbridge/

As part of this release, the Experimental Verison is getting some new features for testing! Been missing some critical information operating out of LOWI or NZQN?

Terrain Display is now ready for testing! In case you've missed it recently, we've also included our new weight and balance feature on the EFB, pause at TOD, and prepared the remote MCDU for testing with SimBridge.

Please note some features may not be fully optimized.

Can you guess what terrain is showing in our previews?

Thanks a lot for this information, Watsi. The FBW-team, as usual, have done a terrific job. Thanks again.

Kind regards,

Hmm... What if I am not using any external device, e.g. printer? Do I still have to install it? Using the development version.

You will need to install it if you use any of the following:

- Terrain display (because the terrain database and renderer are in simbridge);
- Web MCDU (whether locally or not and regardless of whether a printer is used).

The above only applies if you are on experimental, for the moment.

More features will be added over time which will require it, to name a few:

- Viewing PDF/image charts on the flyPad (not including navigraph, that remains like it is today);
- Remote viewing of EFB, EFIS/ECAM displays;
- Remote viewing of persistent airframe data, aircraft system diagrams/state.

Cool! I'm just getting back into the sim after a long break, and really looking forward to getting back into the FBW A320!  The option to run the MCDU on my iPad mini (placed near where the real one would be) is a game changer IMHO.

To the FBW folks, thank you very much for your hard work!  I also want to thank you for making your source code available for other freeware projects to use in MSFS.  We wouldn't have the Headwind A330 if you didn't make your source code public for other freeware projects to use 👍

So, today, on experimental version, if I want to use the web mcdu, no need to start the mcdu server? Only simbridge is needed?

Is this correct?

Yesterday (28 july) I tried only with simbridge and that was not working. Needed to start the mcdu server and stop simbridge.

thanks.

Patrice.

Yes. You also need to use this URL instead of the old one:

http://localhost:8380/interfaces/mcdu

Alternatively, you can click on the Windows tray icon:

I'd also make sure you settings in the flyPad didn't reset - they should mention "SimBridge" now instead of "Web MCDU".

Thanks FBW team for continue to improve the wonderful A32NX!

Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.

Ok. Thank you for the clarification and for this new enhancement.

Question: does this new ground radar only work if your on SU10 {beta}?

I have not yet gone to the new SU10 beta and I do not see the ground radar working.

Thanks,

Jim

No, this is independent of SU10.
