September 21, 20223 yr Wow I am impressed, my old 1070 picked up 25% or more FPS when using DX12 instead of 11. I thought my old system and graphics card would not profit from the new driver. I would from my experience install the new Studio Driver, I did a clean install from the Experience App. I flew back to back tests in 2 different airports with the BN2 and both went from 22-23 FPS to 28-34. Bear in mind I am running 4 monitors using new Multi monitor Experimental settings, and one monitor using AirManager. And I use a Pop-Out for the G530. My system description is in my signature. I still use a 6 year old system built for X-plane. I am just amazed how well it still works now with FS2020. X-plane 12 with similar settings gives me 15-18 FPS using their Multi Monitor settings similar to what I am running in FS2020. And as we all know the graphics just blow XP12 right out of the water. I am not bashing just stating my test results. I was on the BETAs and had no changes at all when launching today. Other than updating NVIDIA driver. September 21, 20223 yr People whose GPU were the bottleneck will benefit most from this update. Those with never cards whose CPU is bottlenecking won't benefit so much, according to my impression.
September 21, 20223 yr Yep, and majority of geezers on here seem to have 3090's and so the whining will continue! I have a 3070 and performance is much better, especially with the latest studio driver.
September 21, 20223 yr I have a 1070 too...and I can tell am improvement with DX12...but hard to quantify. Something seems better, but not sure if its exactly FPS.

I set my expectations and after dialling the sim in for my hardware I had a very nice experience even before SU10 (No I wasn’t trying to run every setting maxed out at 60fps either) Bottom line you have to set the sim up to run the best it can with whatever hardware you have, there is no one setting for all. September 22, 20223 yr question is... how does one get this 'studio driver' without all its associated bloatware (especially through 'experience') CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB MOBO: ASUS Z170 Pro | GeForce GTX 1070 8GB | MONITOR: 2560 X 1440 2K

You do have the option of not installing geforce experience. I doubt very much that the next game ready driver will contain any MSFS-specific code that is not already contained in the new studio driver. I always use studio drivers in flight simulation, and have since P3D 4.0 - studio drivers are more stable, more thoroughly tested, and more bug free.
