I fly everyday with Windows 11 Pro,

Zero issues whatsoever. Just upgraded to 22H2 a couple of days ago and not a single problem.

And I fly every day with Windows 10, zero issues. Looks like we are both happy.

I fly a lot as well and have many issues, just not with MSFS. 😂🤣

The problem is in cases such as these it is all to quick for people to jump in and blame the OS when it could have been another underlying issue that unfortunately surfaced it's ugly head.

I have written it here so many times over the years there are some great free tools such as Macrium Reflect that you can use to create a complete image that you can return too if something goes south. I do this at least twice a month on my Sim PC and while I am at it I create an image of the drive MSFS is on. This is especially important in the case of when a significant Windows update is ready to be installed.

For my new build I get to choose between w10pro and w11pro. I tend to choose w11pro. Are there reasons not to do so?

'New' build. Choose the newest.

Agreed. Sooner or later, MS will force you to go to Win 11. Why contaminate a new build with Win 10? One less update to worry about, and no leftover remnants.

Latest official 22h2 update installed, and the issue is STILL not fixed. Unplayable with RTX 3090 via monitor, VR freezes completely.

Yes. Done the HolographicShell  a thousand times, as mentioned previously in this thread.

Oh well, works for me and other WMR users.

No.  Despite some of the nay-sayers, grouches, luddites, and people who are generally happy with their windows 10 installation (which is fine of course), my windows 11 installation has been rock solid.  The only thing I miss is drag and drop on the toolbar (which is in an update), but all you have to do anyway is right click on an icon and select 'pin to taskbar', so no big deal.

There is no speed increase over W10, but if you have a 12900k or 13900k, the AI task scheduling to all the different performance and eco cores is superb - I can't fault it.
In MSFS it runs on all performance cores, while the windows background processes just tick along on the eco cores.
Windows 11 with the 12900K was by far the best performance in MSFS for me up to now, and after a quick swap out for a 13900KF, even better by about 15% I would say.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.
