FSLTL - live traffic finally released

Thanks for sharing. Lots of improvements with these freeware mods it seems. You can hit spacebar to reset the view by the way (perhaps you already knew). The video itself is of very good quality - may I ask what recording software you used?

EDIT: Is something up with the flashing landing lights on the departing Kodiak?

Yea you've seen that? It's like the entire external and internal lighting system was pulsating with the Kodiak AI.

Had no idea about the spacebar reset!🍻

As for my recording process I use OBS.

IIRC someone in this thread (I think) mentioned performance degradation over the duration of a longer flight. This is an issue which was prevalent before, but I think Asobo claimed to have fixed it in SU10.

Anyway, it's possible to try turning NDU off in the registry - it has helped people at least pre-SU10.

Quote

1. Open the Registry editor app (Regedit) again and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/Ndu.
2. Find and Right-click on the Start option and click on Modify.
3. Change the value from 2 to 4 and click on OK and reboot system.

Base Models: V 1.0.0

& I am on MSFS SU10, not 11 Beta.

Good luck

Indeed.  It works great, I like the sliders.  Thanks T45.

If there's issues with injected traffic, it could be worthwhile doing this:

  1. Uninstall FSLTL injector using the FBW installer
  2. Delete the folder %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\fsltl-trafic-injector
  3. Reinstall the injector

I'm not seeing any Embraer aircraft when using the injector. I see them when using MSFS live traffic though. Any idea why?

Can you try EPWA, where there should be many LOT Embraer aircraft and check if you see them?

Strange I'm not getting any movement at EPWA, nor Heathrow. Tons of parked planes but nothing landing nor taking off.

No traffic in the air either at these airports...FSLTL refuses to inject at these airports/areas for some reason.

According to Flightradar24, there are no movements at EPWA at this time. Perhaps the airport closes during night hours like some others. Looks like arrivals and departures only start after 5AM local time.

No, it's the optimizing of textures using @MammyJammy's Texture Optimizer tool.

Check this post:

Does the texture optimizer fix FPS?  How much?  What about FBW installer updates to models?  It will overwrite?  Thanks.

I didn't measure FPS before and after, so I can't tell. But I'm pretty sure the optimized 2048 textures use less VRAM than if you use 4k and 8k textures.

When the update for the FSLTL models and textures come you will have to replace the optimized textures folder with the original before updating and then convert them all again I guess. At least that's what I'm going to do.

"fix FPS"?  Maybe, but it depends what you mean by fix.  What the Texture Optimizer does is allow you to reduce the size of the textures and convert them into a format that allows easier and more direct processing by the GPU.  Both of those distinct pieces are important in reducing system utilization for AI.  This should lower VRAM usage and some GPU cycles, but it is very dependent on how many AI you have, what the original packages contained, your own system, etc.  You may or may not see an FPS increase.

Mathematically, each divide-by-two step down of a texture reduces the texture size by a factor of FOUR.  How much VRAM is used is a little trickier as it has to do with how the GPU applies, caches, and garbage collects textures.  Far more complicated, however it should be reasonable to expect less VRAM usage.

At the bottom of the user guide for the Texture Optimizer, there's an entire section on how to re-run it depending on what you are trying to do...Including how to re-run updated packages without needing to regenerate all the textures.  Link in the other thread.

I just finished a very pleasant flight from Dublin to Heathrow (SU10) using AIGround and AIFlow. Everything was working really well for the duration of the flight, except that AI landing in Dublin used the whole runway 16 before vacating. That's 2km / 6800ft and it caused a few go-arounds. I took some screenshots that I posted in the screenshot section:

I've tried a search, but maybe overlooked a related posting. I've just saw a WIZZAIR flight that should have a routing from East to West (close to EDDH) and that appeared in MSFS as flying from South to North. As a friend of mine told me similar effects while flying NATS my question is whether this behavior is as well the result of stock MSFS' ATC. After switching the Injector to use direct connections, everything looks better, but unfortunately not as often like Flightradar shows the real track.

EDIT: Okay, I can confirm that all aircraft being injected while flying along the NATS are appearing correctly, but turning away from their course quite soon. It's looking really strange.

Can someone point me to instructions on how to remove generic liveries when using Real Online Traffic and FSTL. Seems to work great but occasionally a generic model will replace a Delta ac for example.

I don't think that is possible unfortunately. And in SU11 the model matching using default AI traffic is even worse.

If you have AIG that might improve things though as MSFS will pull from the AIG folder too.

Open the FSLTL_B738 folder, then open aircraft.cfg with notepad and change icao_generic = 0 to icao_generic = 1.

That will replace the generics by B738's with random liveries.
