New Nvidia driver ? With DX12 improvements?

And what do you want with 150fps ???? 🥳

cheers 😉

Like many, whenever I upgrade anything to give me more FPS, I trade the extra FPS by increasing my quality settings.  Running LOD at 300 now and can even use 400 in most situations.  I've run DX12 since SU10 and the new drivers, but gone back to DX11 for a few days to see how it feels for a while.

As far as DLSS is concerned, I tried it for a while and preferred TAA (neither made much difference to frame rates - maybe got a bit more with DLSS).

Did you notice by chance what temperatures your CPU and GPU had during these tests?

Kind regards,

No issues, though the ambient temp is pretty cool atm.  I may run into issues in the summer.  GPU running at 70 and CPU at around 80.

Seems smoother with this driver, still has shimmering though

I sat at Dublin airport tonight and experimented with TAA/DLSS to see what it did.

FPS was about the same around 30 with FSLTL running, but the DLSS obviously cut the shimmering right out. The blurry instrument displays seem to have improved now I might be able to adopt DLSS going forward as the nav display is quite readable now. Was using DX12.

I would not be interested to have LOT at 400 or 300, that is not needed for me , 200 seems enough for me and i even do not use that..

At the moment my TLOD is at 135 and my OLOD is at 110 and that is OK for my usage.

cheers 😉

After all this time and drivers, in my case, TAA is still faster than any DLSS + DX11 or DLSS + DX12 combo. And generally, DX12 is always a worse performer.

Also, TAA offers noticeably better quality than DLSS in "Quality" setting.

Unfortunately no improvement for me in VR. Also tried with 11 beta, but just the same.

Different preferences 🙂 That being said I've used TLOD at 150 a lot lately. Where my hardware struggle is the major hubs with photogrammetry and AI traffic. But DX12 in SU11 beta with the latest game ready driver has certainly been a big improvement.

As a low & slow flyer, the higher TLOD is a big advantage.  The fields look so much better and the roads and railway lines stand out much more clearly.  Probably of less interest to those who like flying at 35k feet.

I agree, the higher the TLOD the better. Even at FL200 in a GA like the Chancellor or the King Air, there's a huge advantage having TLOD as high as possible as more of the surrounding scenery will be rendered instead of having the blurry mess in the distance.

Given in system (in my sig) running a Reverb G2 revised, I find that this driver is by far the best I've yet to use.  Using DLSS Quality and DX12, everything looks fantastic and can run at a solid and smooth 45 fps even in heavy weather (though I'm not running full ultra settings nor motion reprojection).  I can use ultra cloud and maintain 45 fps providing the cloud cover is not too dense.  The glass panel displays aren't as smeared, but still not perfect.  Beyond this problem, it seems that DLSS and DX12 use is highly system dependent and a YMMV kind of thing.  AFAIK, my MSFS VR experience is now the best it has ever been...so back to flying.

Same. Just testing at iniBuild's Heathrow which used to be unplayable. Now it's smooth, stutter-free even with FSLTL with high settings. Very impressive. I'm at 4K with render scaling cranked up to 150 to stay GPU-limited. DX12 TAA.

Hugely different reports over at the official forums. SU11 for some reason seems a lot worse for some. I wonder if it's related to VRAM amount, as people with lower-end GPU's are getting higher VRAM usage than what's available.
