Every Day with MSFS, a new adventure.

I fly for a VA that flies all over the world. Many times, I go into their schedule, and just input my aircraft, the A320, and it shows me hundreds and hundreds of flights in just about every country. Today I found a flight VTSS-WSSS. Now I had no earthly idea where this was , so I just put it into Simbrief, and found out it is from Thailand to Singapore. I have been simming for almost 4 decades and have never flown in either of these two countries. Fired up MSFS, and I was at a nice looking airport in Songkhla, Thailand. Now I am on my way to Singapore and already have my Star to runway 2L programmed in  to the MCDU..  Another great day to fly somewhere in MSFS. 🙂

Yeah I found myself flying places I never did in MSFS because of the satellite imagery. I can even bare some of the default MSFS airports.

I get you Bob. Sometimes you can get too much choice but I have not even scratched the surface on some of these great places in the world.

I truly feel blessed that we can visualize some of these now with relatively great default scenery.

I remember in other sims I had, if you flew to an airport where there was no Orbx or payware scenery, many times it would be a runway, in the middle of a big open space surrounded by brown earth and green. No buildings, no taxiways, no ramps, nothing. Now I land an a airport with buildings, taxiways, sometimes cars in the parking lot, other aircraft , fueling stations, etc.  Amazing.

So true !! I just hope that sometime in the future we can have an "easy" scenery editor to add things to these default airports. I know there is an inbuilt one but it seems to be a little confusing to get around.

I remember the good old Abacus scenery maker, that was quite easy. 😁

How do you do that? Is there a Web site I need to sign up with?

You guys need to go out more 😛

Of course, flying for a VA which does not "lock you" on a schedule does help.

I'm exploring Africa now for the first time and am coming across a whole bunch of beautiful areas. Probably going to zigzag around here for another few dozen hours or more.

I too find myself flying to places I wouldn't in other sims because you never would get the true representation of what it looked it. The other day, I took the DC6 out over the Namib desert in Africa. Highly recommended.

Satellite and photogrammetry of the entire world is the way to go for all flight simulators now, heading into the future. If you don’t have satellite and photogrammetry of the entire world, you are way behind, IMO.

I dislike having to pay for scenery packages for every different region for DCS World. If DCS World had free satellite and photogrammetry of the entire world with quality as good as MSFS, that would be a game changer for me.

Just got into MSFS from P3D. Spent time at my home airport learning the Kodiak and the WTI G1000 along with my Streamdeck and profiles. Heading off for leg 1 off my RTW tour on Friday morning. Probably will last until late summer of 2023. Will be doing it all on Vatsim.

Wicked stuff guys! From a related angle - I’m just so stoked for a couple of the aircraft coming with the 40th Anniversary edition - Spirit of St Louis and the Spruce Goose! Researching the history on both now! Always been fascinated with the Hughes story and great to read about it all over again! Long Beach CA, here we come with another video! So yes, MSFS provides a new adventure for me often with the release of great vintage aircraft!
