November 19, 20223 yr Well, I think I've finally cracked it - including not flying straight through the glideslope on an ILS landing! 😃 I'm really enjoying this aircraft. The VR experience has to be one of the best so far. But I was struggling for a while with the differences to the more modern A320's. I tried a few Youtube tutorials, especially ref setting up the FMS and also managing descent and ILS but found that some videos, good though they were, slipped into more demo than tutorial at some of the critical stages - and not quite in-depth enough for my early steps where 'no understanding on my part should be assumed' 😄 And...to my shame, I never thought to search the actual 'Microsoft Flight Simulator' Youtube channel... Anyway - found the channel...and all 9 episodes in the "Aircraft Discovery Series 1: Airbus 310-300" - and what a superbly explained run-through it is. Best I've come across yet. I found episodes 2 and 7 particularly helpful. The link is here if anyone else who is struggling hasn't found it: https://youtu.be/ka-S-3wBRBo And on the back of it, I've just done my first two successful descents and ILS landings 🙂 A sublime experience on so many levels. November 20, 20223 yr Anyone else having problems with the right wheel brakes using keyboard or joystick button commands? I checked the assignments and they work in other aircraft, but not the A310. The assignment for simultaneous braking works OK and hydraulics seem to be OK, so there must be some problem with the command. Undercarriage lever a bit sticky was it, Sir?
November 20, 20223 yr Brilliant aircraft and the cabin looks amazing pmdg are going to have to get there skates on this is my new favourite plane for msfs beats having 500 versions of the 737 would be better if they got the 777 and 747 out Alexander Shepherd

November 20, 20223 yr Dont get it running... besides the incredible bad performance being fixed soon, it seems to CTD when using Navigraph and not having VHHX installed (seriously, Asobo and inibuilds?) and also if you enter a flightplan to or from a scenery using a custom ILS (again, seriously?). I know, free airplane amd blabla, but this is ridiculous... Greetings, Chris AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 2x32GB DDR5 6000MT/s RAM, MSI RTX 4090 Ventus 3X, Windows 11 Home, MSFS2024
November 20, 20223 yr Still on the beta build, and I've done a few 2-3 hour flights in the A310. It's a fun aircraft to learn, bit quirkier than the A320 due to its age (and the mix of old and new systems). The impression so far is that iniBuild have done a great job. I find it requires a bit more of a "hands-on" approach, especially in terms of descent planning. Although the managed descent works reasonably well, the aircraft tends to end up too high and too fast. Performance is still awesome, with no degradation over time on the longer flights. I did have atrocious performance on approach into KLAX in the beta, but haven't repeated that flight. Could have been some addon conflict, dunno. I made a post in the screenshots section of my last flight from Djibouti to Dubai (around 3 hrs flight time). Did an autoland which was quite uneventful, except being a bit too high on short final. I highly recommend the iniBuild's tutorial series which are quite in-depth. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

Could that explain the issue you are having? Richard 7950x3d | 32Gb 6000mHz RAM | 8Tb NVme | RTX 4090 | MSFS | P3D | XP12

November 20, 20223 yr Just made some notes on the approach phase, thought I'd share them here. They're based on the "return to airliners" tutorial series by iniBuild. ... 10,000' => LDG lights on, seatbelts on Set engine ignition to cont. relight around 8000' Approach checklist ILS on approx. 30nm from destination First flaps around 220kts Press "land" when LOC is alive + engage second autopilot if autoland At flaps 1 speed => flaps 2 (airplane will be in managed speed mode) Glideslope alive => gear down + arm spoilers + taxi & rwy turnoff lights Glideslope star => select final app speed + flaps 3 Flaps full (30/40) Landing checklist FMA retard => idle thrust Nosewheel down => reverse thrust Below 70 kts => idle thrust, autopilot off Runway vacated: LDG lights off, strobe lights auto, TCAS standby, weather radar off, APU on, brake fan as req., ignition normal, engine anti-ice off, spoilers up, flaps up After landing checklist ... November 21, 20223 yr Just did a quick flight from KFAT Fresno to KBUR Burbank to test the performance of the A310 in the LA area. Overall: good performance, smooth and fluid throughout the flight. Bit of noob difficulties doing my first RNAV approach. Also, the runway is shortish for the A310 at 5802ft/1768m. I was quite light though at 107.5 metric tonnes LAW (219 pax). Here's the flight plan: KFAT/29L DCT FRAME DCT PONDD DCT TAFTO DCT FIM DCT KBUR/MIKEI.R08-Z Sim settings: DX12 TAA TLOD150 ultra settings with FSLTL injector at IFR85 VFR0 radius 50km The CapFrameX benchmarks: As expected the frame time variance is not great using 4090's frame generation. The overall experience was great though. CPU utilization: I'm happy with these results. For me the performance whilst flying the A310 in the current beta is good. I'll upload the video once it finishes 4K processing. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

I think it'll be more interesting to see all the rookie mistakes I made, than the actual performance in the video 😉 I did have an embarassing incident on short final where I actually managed to stall the aircraft. Which I'm sure could be fun to watch. Oh well, I'll try to learn from my mistakes - still a noob in this aircraft, and it's certainly no A320! 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
