No, they are not. Mine (from the Store version) are in:
D:\MSFS\Official\OneStore\microsoft-aircraft-a310-300\SimObjects\Airplanes\microsoft_a310_300 and perfectly readable ...

I did not ask whether they were encrypted or not. My question is a simple one.

So where do I find them in the steam version?

I've had a look for you and there doesn't appear to be an aircraft.cfg. This is the area where a lot of the files are located:

F:\MSFS\Official\Steam\microsoft-aircraft-a310-300\SimObjects\Airplanes\microsoft_a310_300

The front part of the path will be different on your end as it depends where you've installed it.

You would think Kojak would figure that one out for himself!

Lol, there is no editable aircraft.cfg because this plane is encrypted. Get over it.

Other encrypted aircraft provided by Asobo (such as the Longitude) have had certain files unencrypted, such as aircraft.cfg. This was done with SU10 (I think. Maybe SU9).

Question is: Why is the A310 fully encrypted when other previously fully encrypted aircraft are now partially unencrypted.

I expect the reason why they aren't unencrypted for the A310 is due to the partnership between Inibuilds and MSFS/Asobo. As there is an actual dedicated team behind the plane to bring updates/fixes. Rather than compared to the Longitude which was basically just Asobo until they allowed further changes to be made by the community.

Could also be an Airbus licencing thing...

For the benefit of those who have the Microsoft Store version of MSFS, here is what is seen in Windows File Explorer.
Note that the question asked refers to the configuration files, "aircraft.cfg , flight model.cfg" and not to those that can indeed be seen.

Unless you have a magic copy of Windows, you will not see those files either and as they are invisible, they cannot be edited.
Apparently, what you can do, if you do have access to those files, is to add a visible one to say, a repaint and it will override the invisible one.
I have no idea if the files are visible to Steam version users?
