Used Bert P’s fix for this, minus the .05 part and the EIS is fine now.

If you are editing this file, you might as well add the 0.5 knots part.. it improves the rollover and prevents sequences like:  88-89-80-91 😉

Hi Bert. When I added that part in (0.5) and tested it, no digit came up in the first spot. On the left side it showed just a tad above 100, and the reading in the black window was 26 etc. On the G1000 it was showing 142. Unless I did something wrong. May try it again.

Recheck it... there is a + sign in there as well  😉

Funny! I received a reply from SWS. Gabriel replied that it is an ASOBO problem/issue, but I sent him Bert’s fix. Seems to me it is an SWS issue, not ASOBO.

Then I received this

Gabriel,  This fixes the problem.

This fixes the problem.

So the blame was pushed, and it was proved differently.

The question is, which fix do we use?

The rendering problem is an Asobo issue, but let me explain it in-depth. If the old XML gauge renderer is used, then everything appears at the correct positions and works perfectly -except FPS.

When NanoVG is used many things appear OK but some are shifted out of position. That is because of errors in Asobo's code which have gone unfixed since SU5 was released -and this was reported by me to them.

The reason we aren't applying Bert's fix is that when Asobo decide to eventually fix their bug, it will again be offset. Then we will have to push another 9GB of updates to un-correct a correction that's only a few kb in size.

On top of it, by that time it is likely we will have already retired the XML ESI500 and proceed with a JS/HTML variant of it which will make it more functional and performant, without the headaches because Asobo decided to redefine Euclidean geometry.

OK.  Well at least it is now explained.  That is sometimes all that is required, and it goes a long way with customers.
As for the updates, some developers are looking at incremental updates, as it is a pain for end users to keep downloading gigabytes as well just for a small change.
I take it the gauge xml is just a few kilobytes?

Has SWS pushed the new update yet? I am on their site and I don't see it in the downloads/updates section.
