Here are some screen shots for x plane. First three are google maps and the last is Bing. How about a picture at say 3,000 feet.

August 18, 20241 yr It is free but you can only use the medium setting which is alright for airlines. They also have a subscription service 5.00 monthly or 40 annually. The subscription lets you use the high setting and preload scenery. Aurora R16, Intel® Core™ i9 14900KF, NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4090, 64 GB: 2 x 32 GB, DDR5, 2x 4 TB, M.2, PCIe NVMe, SSD
August 18, 20241 yr I've been using the free mod since it first came out and the PRO mod for a year or so. I usually use the latest BING images. The mod is very useful and makes most scenery much more life like. But, BING or Google is a personal choice. In some locations one is significantly better than the other and usually either is better than default. BUT - as with most visual upgrades - it is all in the eye of the beholder. August 18, 20241 yr Despite the irritating changes in colours in some areas, I really enjoy this mod. It makes distant mountains so much crisper, than the blurry mess of texture you often get on default, even with comparable LOD.

Now, with the Map Enhancement Mod and SayIntentions both available in X-Plane, it just might be time to take another look. the map app doesnt work well on xp12. what is baffling is the mods will quite happily let us chat on here about the mod, but over at xp12 forumn its banned due the chinease author making money off google. 🙂

For those that have done it, do you like it and how long did it take to get the license ? I decided to give it a try but never got the license. Thanks! I've paid on a monthly basis for a couple of months. In some places Apple maps pro is significantly better than Bing maps. I haven't tried Google maps enough to say much about it. But I guess it highly depends on region - I don't use the mod at all in WU areas. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
