Probably to make sure it doesn't break anything, or the handling of the data is specific enough that it requires AAU1. I would be totally confident that it's coming if you're not in the Beta, just when AAU1 is formally released and out of beta.
January 4, 20233 yr AAU1 is meant to release this month, so maybe they didn't think it would be needed to push to live right now since everyone will get it anyways.
