January 13, 20233 yr Work on Aircraft & Avionics Update 1 (AAU1) continues to go well in advance of its expected release date later this month. We released a new beta build (1.30.11.0) to testers earlier this week. Players participating in the AAU1 beta can read the release notes for 1.30.11.0 here. AAU1 is the first of three planned Aircraft & Avionics updates slated for 2023. Looking beyond AAU1, the next two major updates to Microsoft Flight Simulator will be World Update 12: New Zealand in February and Sim Update 12 in March. Among other bug fixes and improvements, SU12 will include the long-awaited support for WASM aircraft on Xbox. These three updates are just the first of several things we have planned for 2023. January 13, 20233 yr Any word that they would ever fix the 787 or 747 without outside modifications? People still prefer X-Plane and P3D for long haulers as they are dominant in those sims and would be popular in MSFS too. Edited January 13, 20233 yr by jbdbow1970

If u using the mods for this planes ( Salty, B78XH ) i would say it is not bad at all.. And by the way i am doeing a lot long hauls with this two aircraft and enjoy it a lot ! cheers 😉 08.2024 new PC is online : ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F GAMING WIFI Mainboard, AMD Ryzen™ 9 7950X3D Prozessor, G.Skill DIMM 64 GB DDR5-6000 (2x 32 GB) Dual-Kit, MSI GeForce RTX 4090 VENTUS 3X E 24G OC Grafikkarte, 2x WD Black SN850X NVMe SSD 4 TB - Drive C+D, WD Gold Enterprise Class 12 TB for storage HDD, Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1000W PC - Power supply, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO CPU Aircooler with 7 Heatpipes, Design Meshify 2 White TG Clear Tint Tower-Case, 3x 4K monitors 2x32 Samsung 1x27 LG 3840x2160, Windows11 Prof. 23H2 - now Windows11 Prof. 25H2 Flightsimulator Hardware: Honeycomb Throttle Bravo, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, Logitech Flight Joke System, XBox Controller, some Thrustmaster stuff, Winwing CDU Panels.

Matt at WT has already confirmed that the vast majority of MSFS users are GA fliers so it makes a lot of sense for the initial roll out of the AAU to cater to them. Targeting airliners first would be more about getting clout imo, not that there's anything wrong with that. 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.
January 14, 20233 yr Moderator @penta_a Thanks for posting the update. Wasn’t sure if anyone was going to since it seems that ChaoticBeauty seems to have left the building. First 🌲for you. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

People who care about system depth in airliners have never been satisfied with the default aircraft because they have a tradition of being really bad and superficial. That's why ambitious simmers *always* had to wait for study-level aircraft for years after release, especially when the programming interface changed a lot, as was the case with MSFS. So yeah, I get it why people stick to the older sims as long as their favourite aircraft isn't available in MSFS at the expected quality and depth. But I don't follow why you expect great long-hauler experience out of the box with MSFS (which no other flight sim had), especially when there are good options available. They may not cover every specific need and expectation, but the market is growing at a fast pace. We're at a bit more than 2 years after release, and we already have lots of high-quality ("study-level") aircraft from 3rd party developers and modders. But at this point in time it's expected that the add-on market is still growing and not every important aircraft has a good representation in MSFS yet. BTW, I'm really glad they took the CJ4 and the Longitude to a good level. Makes sense for Working Title to start with these aircraft, as they already have lots of experience in modelling the CJ4. Both are amazing to fly now in MSFS. And yes, I heard Jörg or Matt say they're going to address the issues with the 747 and 787. Not sure where to find it though, and for now we don't know whether they'll get the same in-depth treatment as the CJ4 and Longitude, but it wouldn't surprise me. Totally agree; the biggest negative FOR ME right now in MSFS is the lack of a "study level" long hauler (excluding the A300). We have a gorgeous model of the 78X, yet 3 years later... without the HEAVY mod, it's useless... and the HEAVY mod barely adds additional value due to it being locked by Asobo.
