Well, I'd suggest everybody use Addon Manager and when you start the sim and you get mandatory update instead of installing it just exit the sim. Once you exit the sim turn off all the contents of your community and if you are using advanced options in Addon Manager turn off all the content in the OneStore folder. If you don't use Addon Manager just rename your community folder .OLD and OneStore Folder.OLD. You can then restart the sim, do the mandatory update without losing anything. If you don't know what I'm talking about you have no business being in the BETA! 😛

...and the VR regression bug to the toolbar still doesn't get fixed 🙄 why do I get the feeling, like so many VR regression bugs before it, that this one will be swept under the carpet as well!? #Sigh

Well, to me this looks like an issue with the Store on Microsoft's side, nothing to do with Asobo. Unless they uploaded an empty folder for the update, which is unlikely because others didn't have those issues.

In the mean time, it's been logged and Jane Reynolds, Senior Community Manager, confirmed the team is actively working on it.

I wouldn't take this as any kind of gurantee but it gives me some hope they will amend it until the release of SU12.

Otherwise I might become really grumpy on the Official Forum as this bug renders a number of even my Payware addons useless.

If you run the BETA you run the risk of having to re-install , as its not tested your the ginnie pigs.

I have had to do a re-install of MSFS before from being on the BETA so no i just stay on the stable version as I don't want to spend 2 x days re-installing everything, Id rather be flying

redownloading the whole sim takes me just 2 hours while I watch some aviation training youtubes. don't need to re-install everything because I use Addons-Linker and start a new beta with an empty Community folder. and as FBW737 said before: "If you don't know what I'm talking about you have no business being in the BETA!"

that shift-z tool version 1.1.4 from Ambitiouspilots is working fine in the latest beta 1.31.21.0.

a beta is by definition a test, not a release candidate version.

Really? Thank you so much for the headup, I'll try this tonight.

Aside the nasty toobar bugs, I must say flying the Sting with its great panoramic view under VR in MSFS is something giving me some unforgettable experiences.

"This idea of 3 different install locations via this and that though was solved in the 1980’s. You should be able to load MSFS and it at least be able to update itself without going near the content manager or the market place. The fact you have to use the Xbox App or the Microsoft store to get it to initially update it self is something Fred Flinstone would be proud of."

Yep read that but unfortunately it's very vague and she has responded like that to bugs in the past that are still not fixed, fingers crossed but alas I've given up all hope of them doing anything but the bare minimum when it comes to VR 😔

Steam user by any chance?

I ask this because the MS Store version of MSFS is actually updating itself without needing to go to the MS Store or Xbox App. At least, this counts for the stable versions. I do not know how the Beta is handled.

The Content Manager is doing wat the words say: managing content. So it is obvious that additional updates of already owned addons are done through the CM. I've never done an update through the Market Place. You only buy stuff there as far as I know, weather it be freeware or payware.
