tempting to buy, why spend all this money and time on the interiors of airports, seems like the new thing for developers!!!!  Performance for me is the key!!!  Any other stories?

1. Being able to access the interior and “walk” around greatly increases immersion if done right. It’s pretty cool standing next to the pax as you look out the window at the plane you’re about to fly.

2. From the cockpit view, airports without transparent windows and interiors look fake.

This is not FSX any more, the world moves on. I, like a lot of people, are much more likely to buy an airport with interior modelling, and it’s a pretty standard feature in MSFS these days.

East Mids interiors took me 9 days to make and performance loss was at 0,3-0,5 FPS. Don’t over complicate it and enjoy the view 🙂

i have almost all of your airports, and I bought them because the newer ones have some of the best interiors. Keep up the great work!

I think it's safe to assume that a large percentage of people believe glimpsing a check in desk will take 8 years off their lives and make that erectile dysfunction permanent.

Nothing anyone can do or say will convince them otherwise.

I'd like for some of these people complaining about interiors to do a performance comparison with the interiors on and off.

A short performance report.Terminal interiors and Terminal people were disabled:

Landing with PMDG 738 at 31L and taxi to the gates:  Stable 30 FPS, RAM 15-16.5 GB, VRAM 16-19 GB. Other active add-ons: FS Traffic (JF), KEWR (DrzD), KLGA (Feelhere) NYC (SamScene), NY Bridges (rkBridger).

Edit: and a CTD while writing this message ...

There has been CTD issues with the last couple Nvidia drivers.

Have just seen that iniBuilds have updated their KJFK to v1.1.0 which arrives with the following list of changes:

Quote

 v1.1.0
- Improvements to, or adding of, LOD models.
- Addition of LOD textures.
- Removal of unused materials.
- General tidy up of materials and geometry.
- Adjustment of LOD values.
- Rail/road network now fully lodded and separated into smaller models.
- Missing night lighting T4 [added new mast lights].
- Interior doesn't load in when spawning at A47 (and close by).
- Departure area of T4 causing abnormally high GPU load.
- Taxiway signs not illuminated at night.
- Terrain dip around ZA/YA.
- Bumps on next to runway 31R.
- Bumps in runway fixed.
- ADDED: taxiway lines/parking added and updated next to T8 Parking 16-18.
- ADDED:  ramp parking 1A to 1D (T8).
- Fixed LOD no parallax issue on TWA Hotel.
- Fixed parallax flicker on T5 windows.
- Fixed geometry flicker on some T8 windows.

Hopefully some of the above items will help with performance there.

This update contains many fixes and should hopefully provide a better experience for those on lower-end spec systems!

They say it does. 🤞as it's my worst performing scenery. Will have to test it this evening.

Try to reduce TLOD to 100.

I tried switching to lower texture res and that did work, however it looked awful (and I'm only running at 2K). Also switched off things like parking lots and that didn't make a difference. It's the only airport that has a massive hit on my performance.

Yeah, as was said earlier, your CPU is holding you back massively, and I mean massively! I run an RTX3090, which is amazing, but I was struggling getting more than 25fps at some airports, I'm thinking, in particular, Fytampa's KBOS. I recently upgraded from an I7-10700 which was OC to 4.8Ghz to an AMD Ryzen 7-7800X3D which has factory OC implemented and gets to 5Ghz, my fps at that same airport is 33fps so a 35% increase! Other big airpoprts like Orbx YMML gives me the same boost. At the end of the day, it's about a balanced system, and your system is overweighted massively in favour of your GPU

All Ini airports wreck my performance and I have a beefy system. I do ok with the pmdg 737 but every other plane is a pretty big stutterfest.

More than likely you’re on DX12 and it’s VRAM issue with the HD textures. If on DX12 and not running a 4090, select SD textures.

Even with FG turned on? Think something's being pushed too hard if you can't manage acceptable FPS on your setup. Too many AI aircraft, too much road traffic, too many GSX objects, TLOD set too high, photogrammetry user?

I use DX11, but other than KJFK, I can (and have) used DX12 at all other iniBuilds' airports without much hassle or turning TLOD down beyond 150. Though I never use photogrammetry.

Already down at TLOD 90 to get anywhere near acceptable performance from the previous version. Makes approaches into JFK look rubbish though. Can manage 180-200 in the Fenix A320 at all other airports.

Yet to try v1.1.0.

I am on 12 and use a 4090. With FG it’s ok fps wise but my monitor doesn’t go below 60hz so even with gsync I still get micro stutters. Above that it works great if I can maintain it but obviously not going to happen at jfk with ai traffic.

I have many airports about 30 or so, for instance, KORD, KSEA, CYUL, KMCO, KIAH,  and KJFK is just a stutter fill mess.!!!
