Very sad to learn of Roy's death. I use one of his products almost every time I start up FS2004.

What with his paintings and aircraft for FS2004 he will be sorely missed.

I also used many of the products Roy developed and gave to our community through the years and had communicated with him many times by email. I had the pleasure of meeting Roy and his lovely Wife, Dinah on two occasions, both times at his home just outside of London. The first one was about 10 years ago with my Wife on a vacation trip to England. The second time was three years ago with my Daughter when we attended the 75th Anniversary of D Day at Duxford.

Roy was a man of many talents and a world-renowned wildlife artist, especially with the big cats. He would travel to Africa and other countries where he could photograph them in the wild. He would then return to his home and studio where he would use the photos to create beautiful paintings of them. Of course, we all know him also from our Flight Sim world where he created gauges for the panels and several complete aircraft like the DC-3 and the B-25. 

At his home he had built a miniature railroad around the property which we all rode when we were there. He said it really gave him pleasure to toy around with it.

I am sure you all have seen a late model Jaguar automobile with the animal logo on its sides. Well, he did that design and he had one of the first production four door sedans using that logo in his garage.

Parked next to it was a beautiful red Ferrari convertible sports car. The real deal. I don't remember the model number of it, but you would know it if you saw it. Anyhow he knew I was a car guy and he asked me if I would like to take a short drive with him. Soon we were buzzing along a superhighway that runs kind of Northwest from London and he put his foot in it. I looked over at the dash and we were doing 150 MPH! With the top down. And it was very quiet like you would hear at 60 MPH in any other car. There is a screen that pops up from behind the seats that quiets things down, and it was an amazing ride. I said to Roy, "Is that 150?" And he said "Yes. Haven't you ever gone 150 before?" I said yes, but not on the ground."

I remember it like it was yesterday.

Wow, so sorry to hear this! Corresponded with Roy many times during the FSX days. A true talent in many ways. He always answered every email in a timely fashion. An art that has been unfortunately lost! Condolences to his family members!

Ah heck, I was just catching up on various forums and thought I would pop in here.  Very sorry to hear this. If I recall he had some ongoing health issue.  I used his creations back in the day and exchanged comments with him.  Hope your flight takes you where you want to go!

So sorry to hear about Roy's passing.

I had the pleasure of meeting him many years ago at the FSWeekend at the Aviodrome in Lelystad, the Netherlands. We spoke about the B-25J he developed. I have had many years of joy out of that airplane.
