FS11 Wish List

Featured Replies

1. Improved ATC to handle AI traffic rush, holding patterns, avoid no fly zones, add atc voice command for cargo bays rather than being called a GA!2. Better AI pilot which uses engine thrust and flaps in more realistic way, performs better flares with gentle touchdown, selects and aims taxiways to get off quickly using partial braking power, taxi in better way without jerks3. Let things like 5min AI timeout, 3x go around timeout be left as ingame option4. Better engine doppler effects5. User ATC AI controller if possible. Mouse click vectoring on radar screen will do! Something like click slecting ai aircraft on radar, drag a line, length gives the speed, direction the heading just like a vector, and mouse roll for altitude in flight level.6. Off runway/taxiway gear damage and crash

After getting FSX for Christmas, I am really impressed at the differences beteween FSX and FS9. Yes, there are problems, but FSX is still much better. What would I like to see in the future? Here is my wish list-AIRCRAFT-Working windshield wipers. The ability to move thoughout the entire aircraft, not just back a few rows from the cockpit.Service intervals- If you don't service the aircraft, failures start.Choice of male or female pilot figures for all aircraft.Passengers- if your payload setup has four passengers in the cabin, put people in the seats.Having a co-pilot calling out things like "V1, rotate" at all times, not just in missions. When engines are off and breaks set, aircraft should be shown as tied down and chocked.Better taxi and landing lights. Some are so dim now, I can't see anything. Are there any AI helicopters?SCENERY-Realistic sizing of autogen and trees. The trees seem way too big, but there are a lot of them now.No pine trees in the South Pacific.Redoing of the landclass. FS9's landclass, although not great, was much better than seeing deserts everywhere.Highly detailed GA airports. Super detailed major airports are nice, but I like to fly GA and would like to see better looking small airports. There has been some improvement in FSX, but model some smaller airports to look like the real ones with custom buildings, etc.Remove airports that no longer exist. I have two in my county that are still in FSX.Update existing airports to reflect changes. My local airport in FSX still doesn't show a runway extension that was made twelve years ago.Update scenery in other parts of the world to be more realistic.Mission scenery is shown all the time, not just during missions.Different looking water surfaces for lakes and rivers than the ocean "look".WEATHER-More default weather choices.Visible icing on wings and windshield.Tornados and Hurricanes modeling.Default OAT shows a realistic temperature, not just 59 degrees when I am in Abu Dhabi in August. ATC-Voices that have accents to reflect the region you are flying in.Ability to declare emergencies and get priority for landing.Add a selection of Cargo as a choice for a parking area instead of just Gates or Parking. A fueling choice has been added to FSX.How about once you are on the ground at an airport, you can pull up a map of the airport parking assignments and pick one with your mouse, and Ground will route you to that spot? All in all, FSX seems much better to me. I do not have the stutters like I did with FS9. There have been a few glitches. I like changes like better autogen textures, fencing at airports and much better textures to the runways and taxiways, etc. The default aircraft for the most part, are much more detailed. I really like the new version of the Cessna Caravan.

first post on this board, hi all !theres lots of ideas on here most of which cover my own thoughts, for me i think (as mentioned on one of the earlier posts) is to delay the release of fs11 and do a new version of fsx (maybe fsx.5) with a modified version of the engine for multicore support and x64 platforms, in fact this is all i really want from fs11. Give us a superb engine and let 3rd party developers take it to the next level. i would be more than happy to pay

Millibars and Miles. It's great that we get QNH in millibars/hectopascals in FSX, but why oh why are we forced also to measure distance in kilometres? The number of countries that measure distance in nautical miles for aviation far outweighs those that use kilometres - even in the Euro Zone! So PLEASE either set distance units independently of altimeter units, or give us the extra option. And while I'm at it, it would be nice if the altimeters in the default aircraft could show millibars too - either with a switchable gauge, or a gauge with dual scales.Think about it: You're still measuring speed in knots - NAUTICAL MILES per hour, but over a distance in KILOMETRES. That's just plain daft!

Some of these may have been mentioned before, but here is my list so far for FS11:

  • VC Percipitation Effects Better than FS9's (If they can have those amazing rain effects on PGR4 on a 3 Core Xbox360 with a 500 MHz ATi Xenon chip, it can surely run on a PC ;))
  • Better weather transitioning with Jeppesen's real world weather
  • A Realism setting that will allow newbies to select something like a GPS500 for navigation on airliners and FMCs for enthusiasts.
  • We need windshield wipers! (PGR4!!! B))
  • True, FS11/10 SDK planes, that way we don't have something like the default Mooney Bravo
  • Ground Shadowing from clouds
  • God Rays (Nick has them working in FSX, its not impossible :()
  • If possible, some clean up of the code to prevent hangs, fatal errors, etc, they are fustrating, especially when you spend hours and hours just trying to get your plane off the ground
  • A better AntiAliasing option
  • An option for the strength of the Anisotropic filter
  • A Vsync option
  • More efficent way to handle traffic that does not waste CPU cycles
  • Some more autogen buildings (looking at ESP looks like you have this nailed down already :()
  • We need extremely detailed propeller planes (Not too hard and easier to do than jets! B))
  • A close to complete Garmin G1000 and/or Avidyne Entegra
  • A Cabin View option for at least 1 jet
  • Learning Center lessons for 15 year olds like me still learning!
  • Integrate the Garmin G295/G500 in the panels of planes, or even better the yoke, for more realism
  • Better VFR rules explaining in the Learning Center (things like explaining VMC, 3NM minimum visibility, and if my memory serves me well 500' distance horizontally from a cloud and 1,000 vertically.
  • Something to view documents while flying (.doc, .rtf, .pdf, .txt, and more if possible there is PDFKneeboard though which is awesome!, don't know if it will work in FS11 if there is an FS11 :()

This is all that I can think of right now...

Like I said for rain effects. If this: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/19327.html is possible, on the Xbox 360 it should be VERY easy to do it on a PC....and yes that is how the real game looks like (ignore the work in progress watermark, the game has beeb finished) , no fake CGI, this is how PGR4 looks on the 360 ! :(Also check this out!:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XQQOegRlPYTHIS is why I play on my 360 :(

30+ frame rates on fsx anywhere in the world should be achievable on todays super-pc's that are way way more powerful than the 360 or ps3, but it aint.. sod rain effects, we need a new engine and its looking unlikely we will...perhaps you will be first in the queue to buy MS Flight "Game" on Xbox then? im sure they xbox version will have fancy rain effects and missions

Interesting and also sad to read Phil Taylor's comments above just a few days before the demise of ACES.

On the contrary, given recent events,...it looks MORE likely that we will get an entirely new "engine" when the next flight simulator is developed. :) When that will be though, is anyone's guess.

I would never play FSX on the Xbox 360. It would be a horrible experience. I don't know why you assumed that, look at my list of stuff I want in FS11 and you will see I am a true simmer. Also whats wrong with missions I see Geofa made one, does that not make him a real pilot? If I know how to fly VFR, IFR, and know the Boeing FMS system I do not know why you would say something like that.I think everbody agrees rain effects would be nice, and by the way, I was showing that if the rain effects are possible on a tri core 3.2 GHz Xbox 360 with 512MB memory and a 500 MHz graphics card with 48 unifed shaders, it SHOULD be possible on the PC.This is not how I wanted my first week posting on the forums to be. :( Think before you post... :( I'm gonna test your knowledge right now and see if you are the one thats gonna be playing FS on the 360.What is VMC and the minimum distance vertically and horizontally from a cloud when flying VFR in Class C airspace. Also what is Vx Vy VmcI want the truth, don't search it.If you are good you should know this :(
