May 31, 20233 yr I am curious how most of you are using MSFS. I kind of stepped away completely, deleted all the software. Then decided to come back into the fold. About 75% of things I had before are now reinstalled. Trying to figure out what's the best approach for me to start up again and set up my home office. I have a Quest 2 but at least on my system I have never really enjoyed the level of quality with MSFS. May 31, 20233 yr I feel you're inherently building in bias with your selectable options. A 32" IPS 4K monitor, a 35" curved, ultrawide OLED 1440p monitor, a 100" projection screen, and a 15" 1080p laptop screen are all 2D, yet give vastly different experiences. Very true but for now I was only interested in who was using flat screen and who was using VR devices. I have good flat screens if I decide to go that route. May 31, 20233 yr I'm aspiring to one day have a 4K wall projector with my TrackIR but those things cost heaps right now. Regards, Max (YSSY) i7-12700K | Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB 3600MHz DDR4 | Gigabyte RTX4090 24Gb | Gigabyte Z690 AORUS ELITE DDR4 | Corsair HX1200 PSU

June 1, 20233 yr Correct me if wrong, but seems like Asobo estimated that about 15% of MSFS flyers use VR. That means 85% are using monitors or projectors. My MSFS 2020 repaints: Flightsim.to - Profile of HStreet Working on MSFS 2024 versions.
June 1, 20233 yr 2d monitor. I tried using a Playstation VR and I get super queasy after just a couple of minutes. I was surprised by that seeing as I never get motion sickness in real life. Maybe it is something specific to the Sony setup, but I haven't invested in VR at all since. I get the value of VR, but it just isn't for me. A nice 2D monitor that I can sit close to is immersion enough for me. I customize my views for each plane and can do what I need. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF

And that looks very close to the split according to this thread's poll figures (as at 16:40 UTC today). Had you posted your question and survey choices in the VR forum for MSFS2020 you'd probably get different results skewed toward VR as I, and possibly others not interested in VR, would never see the posting because I never go there. -J 13700KF | RTX 4090 @ 1440 | 64GB DDR5 | 2 x 1TB SSDs | 1TB M.2 NVMe
