I consider myself knowledgeable on the inner workings on X-Plane.  Not so much on MSFS.  But in saying that, I treat MSFS more like a customer than a commercial developer.  And it has faults.  Filou has a very objective stance on things, and I applaud people who can objectively comment on negatives as much as the positives on ANY platform.  Especially in here.  And in case you're wondering if I've negatively commented on XP, yes.  More than a few times.

I do too, but in my view the comment in question is exaggerated and degrading, not objective at all.

Certainly is.  I only got the standard version on Steam.  I wasn't interested in multiple default aircraft.  I just wanted it for research purposes.  I do enjoy the free stuff.  I went to the marketplace, and was pleasantly surprised at all the free scenery and some aircraft.

That's fine.  That's your opinion, and you're absolutely entitled to it.  We can just agree to disagree and carry on, yes?  I sometimes think some comments about XP and P3D are exaggerated and degrading.  People are more than welcome to disagree with me on that, too.

There's some really nice freeware on flightsim.to all over the world.  I'm not a huge fan of the majority of default aircraft....save for the WT enhanced C700, CJ4, and TBM930.  I spend too much on addons...and supporting both MSFS and XP12 isn't cheap LOL!

I've bought a few add ons for MSFS from developers I've come to know, just to help support them.  (No, I won't mention who they are.  But they are not mainstream.  Just up and comers who have dabbled in small GA)

I've been to flightsim.to, but haven't gotten anything from there yet.

I mean everyone is allowed to state their opinion.  For me though I have a lot of experience in both ESP and XP sims....I guess some people only see what they want?  Or they can't possibly say nice things about the other?  This phenomenon is the same with even FS9 to FSX - people won't let things go, they'll resort to name calling if they don't hear their opinion coming out of someone else's mouth hehe.  I highly recommend anyone using MSFS to try XP12 (although the AA issues are hopefully being sorted soon - aside from that it's a nice sim!)  And I highly recommend XP users to try out MSFS... and not just try for an hour... really spend a few days getting it setup and seeking aid from other members to get both sims working well enough!

It's all so predictable. One snarky comment about another flight sim platform, the fan girls rush over and try to diminish 'the opposition', then repeated on another sim's sub-forum and the hamster wheel continues to spin.

Can the mods please block the handful of certain XP and P3D boosters from this sub-forum, and the 5 or so MSFS boosters from the XP and P3D sub-forums?

I have seen that it can be done. It would really improve the level of discussions and reduce the moderating burden.

OK, we're done here, time to move on.
