FPRealistic / SimHaptic

Featured Replies

I have FPrealistic, but how does Simhaptic differ?  Same developer and a similar product.

CPU Ryzen 7800X 3D  RAM 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 6000MHz GPU GEFORCE RTX 4090
Monitor AOC AGON AG352UCG UltraWide G-Sync @ 3440x1440
Internal Storage 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD
External Storage Three 4Tb HDs

Simhaptic will directly drive a buttkicker vibrating seat thingy. Unfortunately no support for the HF8 on the PC using the USB.

Yes, I downloaded the "free" 7 day trial. (on day 6 Now) Runs my ButtKicker just fine. Sounds effects seem a bit crisper than when using SimShaker for Aviators.

Hey Captain, as @mobeans10 mentioned, SimHaptis is dedicated to work along with bass shakers providing low frequency output based on your simulator state. While FSRealistic and XPRealistic are inducing camera and sound effects based on your simulator state.

Indeed HF8 now works with 3.5mm plug only, however, we do plan to try and add native support for HF8.

Thanks!

Anyone tried this out?

I bought a SimHaptic license and it seems to be quite nice.     I own a Sim Shaker license,   and I have two Aura Pro transducers bolted under my seat in a L/R 2-channel configuration.  I'm using my motherboard's audio to drive the 75w rms x 2 channel amp.    (Dayton Audio APA150 Amp With 2 Aura Pro Bass Shakers Bundle)   (Same amp with Dayton transducers

Things I like:

1)With SimShaker I had to install legacy versions of SimConnect from FSX.    This is not necessary with SimHaptic.  👍

2)I prefer the interface of SimHaptic.   It's quite easy to use,  and I like the way it's profile system functions without much user intervention.

3)This is subjective,  but SimHaptic's output feels noticeably more complex.

I also like the spectrum analyzer in the SH interface.

I just took a flight in the An-2.   The default SH profile had the avionics fan whine / vibration too intense,  and the engine vibrations felt more like an inline.    It only took one click to dial down the avionics,   and three clicks to change the engine profile to what really felt like a big radial.

I can feel the haptic feedback through my entire rig,  from the seat,  to the pedals,  to the stick/hotas.    Engine sounds felt nice,   ground roll felt convincing,   etc.

I'm sticking with SH.   The introductory price was well worth it.

Edit:  Have an old home theater receiver laying around?  https://www.parts-express.com/speaker-components/bass-shakers

Interesting, I didn’t realise this was out. I’ll try it out and see if it’s better than simshakers once I return from summer break.

I bought it and it is working well with my setup. Much better than anything else out there. Got it all dialed in. I love the brake effect after landing, you can really feel it grabbing the runway. I Recommend this to anyone who has a shaker or two.

Does it now work properly with A2A Commache? Because before the update the effects where not that good

But i saw that a2a offered more Telemetry in the latest update for this kind of stuff.

It is now working well after their latest update, however, some effects are still remain not working due to missing telemetry data by A2A, which we have contacted them already on this regard:

  • Door open close
  • Avionics
  • Max deflection

I also purchased it but must admit that I don’t understand for what it is for. I thought it was replacing FS/XP Realistic. I tried it out and still don’t get what it is supposed to be 😂🙈

Can someone explain me in simple words?

As stated above , Simhaptic will drive hardware bass shakers directly using low frequency audio from the sim. If you don't own such hardware then it's not going to do much for you. Maybe you can get a refund since they had a trial version.  The guy that posts here seems pretty cool maybe he can point you in the right direction.

Thanks very much. I really completely misunderstood that. I thought it would make sounds better and do also the camera-shake effect or something like that...i will ask for a refund indeed. Hope it will be possible.

For those interested by SimHaptic, it looks like the introductory offer on rkApps' website is over (now 29.99USD instead of 19.99USD yesterday). However, the product is still available for 19.99USD on third-party vendor websites (Aerosoft, Just Flight, etc.).

I'll just say that I have been testing it for a few days, and it's a great product! Thoroughly impressed. And update was just released.

And v1.0.1 update is out with new effects!
