"Why does MSFS consistently go 2 steps forward and 20 steps backward whenever there is the slightest optional or mandatory update? " was not exactly helpful nor a bug report. disappointment is understandable, but such is life for a beta tester, as has been said here already and each and every time there is a new beta. the good news: betas are optional, not mandatory, and yes, unlike most other work, even things that were fixed in earlier betas can break again in later betas. fyi: I reported "heading selector is in-op in the TBM 930", that ought to be enough for a beta bug report. later: after disabling everything temporarily in the COMMUNITY folder the TBM 930 HEADING selector is working fine again. now off hunting for the usual suspects in COMMUNITY folder. NOT a bug in the TBM 930 then. Surely it is alright to come here to 'discuss' them and share experiences, whether positive or negative? I really don't understand why some people don't like it. They seem overly sensitive to any criticism of the sim. Why don't they just stay out of the thread if they don't like it rather than trying to shut people down for discussing the issues? I find it really strange. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). What I see as a guy sharing information to confirm experiences is seen by some as complaining. It happens. People are different. Whether people like it or not, he is allowed to come here on a discussion forum to discuss things. The issues in the beta have already been well reported in the right place - the official forum, and this thread that was opened to 'discuss' the beta as we should, as it is a discussion forum. It seems you are just trying to be helpful and have a bit of reasoned discussion. My post was also supposed to show a touch of light ironic humour anyway, thus the smileys. PS. I think the Avsim forums are better than most. I have seen terrible hostility on places like the MSFS Reddit, and even the official forum. The people here are generally very good, but obviously there will be differences in opinion and even perception as we can see, so there is bound to be a bit of spirited and forthright discussion at times. It's fine by me, and you have to be prepared to listen to different opinions even if it gets a bit prickly at times. The mods here are very good at keeping it in check if people overstep the mark. August 15, 20232 yr I see it's going well with MSFS then. I'll be back on my computer towdards the end of SEP when I am back from Europe. I wonder what else has gone backwards in the MSFS world. 11 hours ago, turbomax said: "Why does MSFS consistently go 2 steps forward and 20 steps backward whenever there is the slightest optional or mandatory update? " Never a truer word spoke. I do not believe he was specifically discussing the current beta, but the sim itself over its last few years. And he is right, the amount of things that have been 'broken' and either never fixed or that have taken months to fix is staggering. And that is my opinion, on a discussion board, just as it is his opinion, on a discussion board, and that is the WHOLE point off a discussion board. If you don't like my opinion, scroll on by, or voice your own opinion on the matter and debate, but do not belittle people or put them down for having an opinion. PS this isn't aimed at you Turbomax, I just quoted that line of text as I couldn't find it from the original OP.
August 15, 20232 yr I have noticed one of the biggest problems on the forum is people getting frustrated at other people venting THEIR frustration. It just goes around in circles, causes bad feeling between generally decent people, and it rarely solves any of the problems. Then people get classed as whingers etc. and it really kicks off. All totally unnecessary and a big waste of time. I wish people would just let them vent and skip over it. None of us are social workers (I presume! ), but at times people just need to let rip, and sometimes it is a bit incoherent and not well thought out or logical when they are stressed, but some people jump on it and challenge or try to pick apart a frustrated comment, which really isn't that clever or even worth it. I would rather try to help them (even if it is just to sympathise), or skip over it rather than challenging them on their frustration. It's probably the last thing they need when they are already stressed / struggling or don't understand why something is happening. I have been there at times when MSFS keeps falling over, or something isn't going right and you just want to get a flight out of it - it can challenge the patience of the best of us. Anyway, to get back on thread, hopefully they will keep having a bash at the white dot / box issue for people on the next beta update, (seems to be gone for me now), and maybe take a look at the DX12 stuttering / performance issues some have. At work, I notice it also comes with the burden of everybody coming to you with problems if you are approachable and a good shoulder to cry on. The is thing is, I am not really religious and I don't know what we are put on this Earth for, there may be no reason, but I think we should all try to enjoy ourselves while we are here, and try to help others where we can. If we cannot show a bit of patience and understanding to people getting a bit stressed and letting off steam, then it is a bad state of affairs. I notice there are very, very few genuinely toxic people on the forum, and when they do start acting up, the mods soon give them a holiday! I am lucky in life. I have had an enormous amount of help off people at times, and I am really grateful for it. You cannot underestimate the effect of someone acknowledging a bit of a frustrated communication with a bit of dignity. I encourage everyone to try it rather than biting back. Feels good! It is just a hobby after all. Edited August 15, 20232 yr by bobcat999 Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). August 15, 20232 yr In addition to the doubts I have about the balance and quality of the future MSFS 2024 and in view of the current circumstances .The end of MSFS 2020 is going to be pathetic. But we will keep many souvenir photos made in all corners of our beautiful planet. That they only do what they know how to do with a little coherence and honesty will be enough for me.

Asobo took their first swing at this genre and ended up creating the most successful flight sim ever made. I'm not too worried about 2024 since the team can only get better at what they're doing from here. 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.
