reminds me of some bug reports in another forum, when a user reports a bug and someone else replies: "but .. but .. it works fine for me, no problems here."

they keep repeating in this xplane forum: did you report the bug, you need to report the bug, how could the devs know about this or fix it otherwise.

well every time I report a bug someone feels insulted, complains about my report and instead tries to retaliate with a non-bug scenario instead of trying to isolate the conditions that might lead to a solution. not very helpful. nothing I can do about it.

If several people have the same problem, then fine.  It can get looked into.  So far, you are, literally, the only person in X-Plane with this problem.  Myself and another person even gave you the benefit of the doubt, and we tried to replicate your issue.  Unsuccessful.

This is more of "your system" or "your installation" problem.

If you want to give me the exact settings, location, time, conditions, weather, I can try it and see for myself.

x-plane calls this "maximum cloud quality". if they say so.

Because NO ONE ELSE is having this problem.  There's nothing "usual" about it.  It's extremely unusual, because you are the only one experiencing it.

And you're background clouds reflect the sliders, perfectly.

I think it's concluded this is something on your system.  Either hardware or plugins.

Seems your super computer cant handle the graphics, Have seeing no one else with this issue

I have clouds on medium settings, shadows off, and never seen anything like this either, can't even reproduce it if I try, and I've tried, as I'm interested to report this to LR. Are you able to produce this problem consistently, if so, please let us know how so it can get fixed

Hi Tony

thanks for your reply, the only constructive in this thread so far.

I had uploaded strange voxel? cloud screenshots before in this forum in previous betas and they said it was fixed, but obviously not. I assume this may occur only randomly since these voxels? are a dynamic, constantly changing process and therefore may be hard to replicate immediately, which doesn't mean the problem doesn't exist. I will try various settings and report back.

It was, wasn't it.  Never mind the fact that it was Tony and I who were the ones trying to replicate your persistent problem, which is isolated to your installation, and coming up with nothing resembling what you're seeing.

Then after I asked for specific conditions, you provided a screenshot of 2 sliders, and clouds in the background that looked fine.

Since you prefer his help, I'll leave you in Tony's capable hands.  However, I don't know how busy he could be.  He has mod duties here.  Support is not something he dedicates his free time to.  Whereas I do.

After all, it wouldn't be the first time I solved an issue for you...would it?

Good luck in any case.  😉

Looks like comments on the new beta are taken over by one single user. I guess we'll have to look for info elsewhere.

each and every time there is a new beta, I am hopeful and start from a nice airport like EGLC which I purchased just a few days ago for a flight to Amsterdam, just to encounter those horrible clouds a few minutes into the flight at which point I have to end the flight.

You “have to” end a flight just because the clouds look “stupid”? Do low quality clouds somehow prevent you from completing a flight from EGLC to EHAM?

yes, because in VR mode this looks so unrealistic that I "had to" and look for solutions and to possibly change settings, comprende?

feel free to report your own bugs. I thought this was a place to report bugs and other possible unusual findings, but obviously some users can't cope with that. instead they fall into "defend" mode immediately. doesn't help identify/solve problems.

What gave you that idea?  You know very well that avsim, which is a predominantly MSFS and P3D forum, is in no way a place to report X-Plane bugs.  You keep doing this. Post cherry picked screenshots of issues no one else is having, and then when you get called out on it, you scream "victim".

X-Plane has a built in bug reporting system.  Laminar also have a web site SPECIFICALLY for bug reporting.  Avsim isn't even on their radar.  So for you to report bugs in this forum is beyond bizarre.

No, we can.  In fact, people like Tony and myself even spent considerable time trying to duplicate your "problem", and we were unsuccessful.  I continued even after he stopped, because I wanted to have something to report.  Then I asked you for specifics by name, so I can maybe duplicate the problem that way.  But for a screenshot of 2 sliders, and crystal clear clouds in the background, that request went unanswered.  No, we can cope with issues other people find.  But we find it annoying when those people refuse to elaborate with specifics, and then make victim posts in the forums.

Hmmm I wonder why.

clouds looking just as stupid as last year. even at 112 fps. no way I will purchase any addons until/if this gets ever fixed. back to the "glorified scenery simulator" 🤣

Didn't you admit above that you actually have purchased addons already for 12?

There's nothing in your tone or behavior that alludes to a calm, collected debug-mode approach to the situation. Instead it's laced with whining, complaining and throwing your toys out of the playpen. Next time learn how to do a weather dump and upload the weather files so that someone else might stand a chance at recreating what you're seeing.

BTW, your FPS is spectacular.

Friendly reminder: WHITELIST AVSIM IN YOUR AD-BLOCKER. Especially if you're on a modern CPU that can run a flight simulator well. These web servers aren't free...

I see the usual suspect has come in and gone full... on-the-spectrum in a thread, as usual, derailing it completely.
